What is it with the compulsive need to collect?
For several years (probably) I've had a stack of unopened Dark of the Moon trading cards in a drawer that came free with orders from Robot Kingdom. They used to put handfuls of them in packages when they were trying to get shot of them. I've ignored them completely until today, when I was doing some tidying and almost threw them out. Before putting them in the bin I thought I'd open a couple of packets to pick out a few new bookmarks, and of course turned up one of the rarer chase cards in the first pack. Twenty minutes later I'd opened the lot and sorted them into order, sifted out the doubles and found a checklist online to see what I was missing. I am now pining for completing some of the subsets.
Is this why I've got a loft full of toys? The collecting gene is strong in this one.

You should open them anyway! See if you have any nice ones. I must have had at least twenty packets but I'm no where near a full set, so I'll never get them all anyway.

Well I did make a list, but I've only got 69 of the 189 base cards and a handful of the chase cards, so the easiest way to get any more would be to buy a complete set, and even ebay doesn't seem to have those. I don't care about trading cards really. It's just the collecting thing. But these DotM ones are all art based rather than movie stills, and look quite nice. Compared to that awful CCG they did for AoE these are really nice. |

My special gift turned out to be a nice one! Hooray for Phil! I now have another pile of Dark of the Moon trading card packets to open and combine with mine! The gamble here was if Pinwig had got shot of his existing ones having opened them..... |

No. I haven't kept all the cards because after the first batch it didn't seem likely I'd be able to complete the set. I've kept all the specials and chase cards and use them as bookmarks.
