The manual will be online. What make and model is the phone?

It is a Samsung Note 9.
Does anyone know how I can change my name on the device? It slipped when I was typing it so is nonsense. No idea how to change it.
I transferred over audio files but I cannot find where they went and how to access them. On the old phone it was. I just pressed on the SAMSUNG MUSIC app button. I cannot find that here or even how to download.

I appear to have fucked the phone. I switched to EASY MODE but I find that much harder to work but 'Settings' has vanished so I can't change it back!!!

I was having a full meltdown when Andu managed to figure out what I had done wrong to lock the phone to full screen. He made the little grey bar come back. He is a Good Man.

The weird thing is that the old phone is still working. I was using it to scream for help from Andu. I thought that would have stopped when I did the thing with the new SIM.
I do not understand this but it means I can use it until the case for the new one arrives.

I don't get it. There are some decent enough old style phones on the market for £20 or so. Why didn't you just get one of these?

If you have put your old sim card in the new phone it will be your old number.
If you haven't it would explain why your old phone can still text.

No I mean that the old phone showed me my number. I have the same number but I can never remember it. I relied on being able to see it on the phone.

Try... Settings -> About Phone -> Status -> SIM Status
Although my phone says the phone number is unknown.

I think I just need to write it down on a bit of paper. Later I will try to get the phone into the case which has apparently arrived. I have no idea how it does this. How does the back come off? -Ralph

AGH!FUCK! How do I find out on this what my phone number is??? -Ralph I feel your pain. My current low-tech piece of hardware doesn't tell me at all. The only reason that I know what my mobile number is...that Vodafone texted it to me when I activated the phone. So I try to remember _not_ to delete that particular text message when the tiny storage space of the 'phone fills up every couple of weeks and I have to delete all the texts. *sigh* Karl

I got the case on. Apparently phones have evolved in the last five years. There is no longer the need to wrench the back of them off to get them in a case.
The old phone may be retired but still has some life in it. It can still connect to wifi so works as spare internet device as well as spare camera and spare media device. It shall still be used for audio books.
It may be a bit knackered and no use as an actual phone anymore but I see no need to bin it when it still has some uses.

I too keep old phones for a while.
Still have my Palm Pre - handy as an MP3 player if I am on a long journey and concerned about battery life on my proper phone.

I must find some way to recycle my old handset - that is never coming back to life again. It sits atop the freezer a large, flat, plastic paperweight...

I think I still have most of my old phones. Including my old Star Tacs. I miss Star Tacs, why wont Motorola do a nokia and releasse old style phone with slightly updated innards. Okay very updated.
