Rang GP now appointments available for next fortnight. EVENTUALLY got one for a week Tuesday (not wonderfully convenient)
5 minutes later GP rang me up. Pharmacy had requested my repeats and had asked for two things I was no longer on. I said to the person on the phone that this was what had happened but that I might need them as I wasn't happy with the changed drugs due to side effects, which I described. They were somewhat concerned, advised me to ring the triage line who have got me in this afternoon.
Let's see if I can get the previous drugs regime and rid myself of the digestive distress and chest pains!

OK.... Baclofen being stepped back to previous levels over next few weeks. So should see stomach improvements within that time. At the same time Gabapentine being introduced - was on this one years ago and it did nothing for me but Neurologist was keen on it. Will go back in a month. If that doesn't work back to the Robaxin and Quinine.

The clinician in me would love to have a look at your prescription, Big Phil. But yes, often with modern medications it's finding the right balance, because certain drugs do different things, which require different drugs... which require different drugs.... The drugs work though! THE DRUGS DO WORK. If they can get them right....

It's so weird when Shockprowl gets all knowledgeable about medical matters.
It's like Ronald McDonald giving financial advice.

This is a man who knows how to use defibrillators... But why would you let him?

If you're desperate enough to need a defibrillator, you're not going to be asking "Excuse me, can I just check you're not Shockprowl from the TMUK forum?" first.

I was on Gabapentin for a while. A very high dose. I felt nothing from it at all, good or bad. I eventually told the GP I wasn't taking them anymore! It was like taking Smarties for all the effect it had!

Tried it 20-30 years ago. Did sweet fa. Was replaced by Robaxin which formed part of a stable drugs regime till the consultant tweaked it.
OTOH helped Mum a lot.

Didn't get the job.
Disappointing, but not unexpected as I was unaware a few experienced colleagues chucked their hats in the ring on the q/t.

I was expecting it. I was very confident on Monday when it had just been me confirmed as an internal applicant and the rest external. Found out on Tuesday a couple of folks put their names forward as well and I knew I had an uphill battle.
Interview went well, so nothing to moan about.

I quit my job this week. Had my fair share of squeaky bum moments about it and the immediate future looks very uncertain and I certainly have some financial trouble ahead but it had to be done. Ask me again in 6 months if it was worth it!

I'm sure you wouldn't have done it unless you knew there was no long-term future there for you. Hope you can take time out to recharge your batteries a bit before moving on to the next phase of your life.

I don't know, even if I didnt before hand, I imagine if I surivived the paramendic would hear me weakly asking " Shock....prowl.... is .. that .... you?
