Was: 2019 Week 25: Happy Birthday Piglet
If I've done my maths right, Shockprowl is the parent of a Teenager!
(This fact was discovered while checking if I'd used this week's intended title before: I had!)
Morning All!

HAAA!
Yes, not so much a 'Piglet' anymore. Now a proper, er... pig.
THERE IS A TEENAGER IN MY HALLS.
It is a very worrying time...
And the other one was 8 a few days earlier (not very well planned by myself and Mrs there). I must mention it incase she reads this in the years to come, after our many Hubtastic conversations are transcribed and published.

No, but it does lead to questions about what's special about mid September!
Did Squid get a Jetfire for her birthday?

Closed all accounts on old flat and waiting on final bills before I am completely done with it. Keys to post today then nowt more to do other than pay the bills when they arrive.
Now I am in Englandland I have to pay Open Uni fees now (free in Scotlandland for anyone earning less than national average wage). Checked with OU. As I started studies in Scotland I pay the reduced rate (a third of the rest of the UK rate) so paid for next module. Very expensive but had to be done. Had it been the full rate my studies would have stopped. The coalition government took away grants for part-time study (outwith UK) so student numbers have nosedived. Disgraceful. That policy has barred so many people from adult education.

Long and stressful day.
Discovered this morning that my nephews had been on a wrecking rampage with the Britains Space toys and my brothers had done a poor job re filing all the bits right - the sides are colour coded, how hard can it be?
While this was going on I could hear a conversation between mum and physio downstairs about her knee and lack of sensation in her good leg (the non stroke affected one) the net result being she needed an MRI scan TODAY and an ambulance was called. I asked her if she wanted me to go with her, she said no, so we went out for lunch. She'd been collected by the time we returned at 2.
At 3:30 she rang us to get us to cancel her 5pm carer
No sign of her by six so we ate, and plated hers up in the fridge.
By 8:30 we're getting concerned: final carer due 9 and there's no way any of us could get her to bed if she returned after that, we spoke to her at the hospital and the nurse confirmed ambulance staff would do that.
No sign of her by 10
At 11 the hospital rang: she's ok - though no explanation for symptoms - but due to care worries they,re keeping her overnight.
Happy about outcome, weight off my mind for tonight. She wouldn't have been good after that.
But long and stressful day. So tired.

Another stressful day with Mum. Knee and leg still causing concern. Physios tried and failed to get her into local rehab unit.
They're going to need to double her carers - two at once - to cope with increased risk of fall. And thus double the cost. Existing care firm can't do it, so she'll need to change firms again..... And bed times too.
This all upsetting and stressing her (and me)

Never rung 999 before.
Mum taken ill this evening, D&V just as evening carers arrived. They managed to get her to loo but weren't happy. She wouldn't let them call an ambulance ..... So I did. I could not look after her if she is unwell.
She's gone to Kingston A&E, I expect she won't be back tonight.

Mum hopefully home this morning,
She's been better overnight but I'd much rather she spent a night in rather than risking her ill at home.
Equipment delivery due for her this am. Also care company hand over at 12. One of her rehab staff came in to send her this am, was surprised to find her not here so we had a chat.
Looking forward to home tomorrow.

Changed offices (fortunately I have two within similar commutes). Now I sit next to someone who slurps his tea and has no inner monologue when working out problems.
I'm not sure if this is better or worse than a once a day noisy carrot munch.

I may have been known to talk my way through a problem, helped immensely, especially when coding.

Sorry to hear your weeks been a bit of a nightmare Phil.
I've had what feels like a mildly successful week for the first time in ages. Started the week(well ended last week) seeing Ian McKellens one man show which was a brilliant, if you like McKellen you should see it, if you enjoy Shakespeare and can get tickets you should definitely see it.
At home the first fruit of the year has ripened. 3 whole Strawberries. Yum! Hopefully within a week or two they'll be joined by Blueberries, brambles, rasberries and a later on tomatoes, oranges, lemons and Apples.
And I finally got the running machine working and was able to construct a walking desk over it which may help my weight loss efforts over the summer.

I'm going to see it in London in October. I bought McKellen's Richard III Blu-ray out of curiosity a few years ago. Not a huge fan of the film, but it had a wonderful 79-minute one-man show as an extra, and I keep it just for that. Though you can see it free here: player.bfi.org.uk/free/film/watch-shakespeare-on-stage-screen-and-elsewhere-with-ian-mckellen-2016-onlineMartin

Difficult day as nerve pain has been very severe combined with high pollen count but stayed out and active for the day as only exercise and distractions can help until it settles down again.

Had a quiet weekend this weekend. Finishing a thing I am working on for a thing, walking into town for a new pair of laces for my work shoes, a detour back to Abington Park for morning coffee in the sun and a walk around the lake on Saturday. Today has been spent in the park across the road - reading, having my lunch in the sun, saying how-do to folks dogs. Feel quite recharged now and ready for another week.
Also been weed-killering the slabs outside. I don't own a garden, but I do own a bit of paved area and carpark out the front of the property. So it has to get a defoliating every so often.
Procedures to write at work this week, whatever strange problems come our way for investigation, and working on another thing for a thing in my spare time...
Short week though - I had friday off for the Glasgow Comicon trip that isn't going to happen. Need to keep the day off anyway though - holiday year ends at the end of July and I have days to burn. So only four days at work, then a long weekend!

Pain levels better today, helped by standing up most of the day. Hope it continues to subside so I can sit down long enough to watch Toy Story 4 tomorrow.
