Holiday day 1 update, managed to get slightly burnt despite 3 different applications of spf 50. The sun can do one.

Well after weeks of difficulty and stress, I have suddenly went from 'strugging to even get viewings' to 'have paid for deposit and initial rental period and get keys tomorrow evening' for New Burns Cave for one year's lease. Some compromises have been made but it will do as a base for a year to get my bearings in a new part of the country and find a longer-term more permanent better paid job, etc.
While in current temp job travelling will be very long and tedious to get to work with early starts but when next OU course starts I can use some of that time to study, I suppose.
However, it is next to a canal and walking distance from a World of Cine. Hooray. Also the nearby ASDA sold me Cyberverse Scout Ratchet which I have not found anywhere else!
Gives me a year to try and sort my life out before settling more permanently.
I will also be within striking distance of M...
I can't actually move in tomorrow (nor did I expect to get a move-in date so supernaturally quick) as I need to figure out how to move a bed and I am away most of Saturday but, er, soon. Hopefully I can get my belongings moved from Edinburgh storage down here by end of the month so I don't have to keep paying for that.

It was truly an impressive feat. We had thought you might like the flat tonight but then it would be a few weeks before getting keys.
We have found a van rental place that does evening rentals for £26 or so for a couple of hours so we're not limited to weekends either for moving etc given that you are tied up for the next few. We will find a muscular driver for it as well next.
At least now you can hopefully relax a bit and enjoy TFN more than you might have otherwise!

Six weeks ago approx I was injured by an NHS employee and have experienced continual pain since. Made a complaint and awaiting reply before I can take it further. Checked in again on Tuesday with a Dr Quack and was essentially made to feel as if I am lying and was dismissed. My medical records also appear to be missing. Yesterday and today the pain has been astonishing. Feel like I have been treated like absolute scum by the NHS.
The big worry is that the pain is affecting my left hand and I'll have heavy boxes to move out of storage in a few weeks which I won't be able to do if this continues.

Are these medical records from here or Scotland? If Scotland they probably won't have arrived here yet. Mrs M's haven't even transferred from ten minutes down the road yet in over a year.
As to moving boxes if you hire a man with a van they will move them for you. Mrs M and I can help you at this end.

Pinwig is currently shoveling everything back into the loft that had come down to move as he starts the 'selling a house cycle' all over again. A million boxes shoved in every corner of the house is not going to be appealing to potential buyers. Doing this once was bad enough, twice is nuts.

As to moving boxes if you hire a man with a van they will move them for you. Mrs M and I can help you at this end. NHS guidelines are for records to be transferred in 48 hours. I have helped many clients over the years with this. I once had to kick up **** as a worker when there was just a 2 week delay! This has been a professional area of expertise for me: one of the things I have had to ensure gets sorted when moving folk into permanent accommodation. Even with a delay there is a central service than can usually help. I want to go private but can't until I am registered with a regular GP for 6 months. Then I'll do it. I've had enough of being treated poorly. My opinion was not great before but has now hit rock bottom after being injured by a member of staff. No acknowledgement, no accountability, no apology. Constant pain I shouldn't have which is having a knock-on affect on my mental health. I never feel relaxed. -Ralph

Holiday day 4 update, no further burninating has occurred, now nicely cooked. Torment has also thus far been avoided. 'Pirate' ship in the Aegean this afternoon, sounds nice!

Mrs M and I visited Section 31 this afternoon. It will serve Burns well.
