Did anyone here actually buy that issue from a newsagent?

I had it bought for me from a newsagent. And I still have it. It is in appalling state now though.

My older brother bought it for me on his first journey to the newsagents on his own! He is responsible for my Transformers life... I still have the comic - like Benns copy, it's in many prices but still the original.

Did anyone here actually buy that issue from a newsagent? Martin I did. I'd been getting DWM for five years at that point, had had a long run reading Eagle and was looking for something to replace Scream!, which had ceased publication that summer. Giant robots fit the bill. I still have all my original issues. The only problem with my #1 is that I foolishly hole punched the early issues to put them in a binder.

The first issue I remember getting was 200 after a hospital visit. I have a couple of earlier issues but no idea where they came from. They might have been my older cousins or random issues picked up to distract me on long drives to see family.
I do however now own an issue one, minus cover so if I cn find it will give it a read tonight or tomorrow.

I was also on the ball enough to watch the first episode of the cartoon a few days ago on the 35th annivasary of its US premier. As I was in the US it seemed reasonable.
Anyone know when it first appeared in the UK?

What! MORE homework? Really? You mean you haven't done it despite nearly 5 months notice?

No! It takes long enough each week to do the 30 years one.

My first issue bought was #42 though I had read issues before then (and the Collected Comics). I forget if I read Complete Works 1 or Collected Comics 1 first. I did not read TFUK #1 when it came out though it was the stuff of legend at school and spoken about in hushed revered tones. Those who owned it WERE UP ABOVE THE GODS THEMSELVES.

Yep, that's me.
Five years I've been doing a weekly re-read. Blimey.
