When I was little I made an audiobook of the Manta Force ladybird book, but in a tragedy the tape ran out halfway through recording and I didn't notice.

ILLEGAL POLL! New Earth indeed... It is a planet In Doctor Who, where the human race settles in the year Five Billion after the original Earth is destroyed. -Ralph

"New Earth - human colony world, colonised by MANTA Force"
Really concerned by Martin's colonialist attitude here. Surely it was the home planet of the kind and noble vile Stinkhorn and his stenchoids, cruelly invaded by the evil MANTA Force

Surely it was the home planet of the kind and noble vile Stinkhorn and his stenchoids, cruelly invaded by the evil MANTA Force I'm not such an expert on MANTA Force as to make moral judgements. My statement was factually correct, if selective - I didn't say the human colonisers were in the right. You clearly have strong emotional ties to this vile Stinkhorn and his stenchoids. Martin

Also point of order, IS nebulos a human colony world? I thought they were aliens even in the comics?

Also point of order, IS nebulos a human colony world? I thought they were aliens even in the comics? It was never discussed. I deduce it is a human colony world because there is evidence humans evolved on Earth, the comic made clear Nebulos was only a few light-years from Earth, and they appear to be at a very similar stage of development to us, in cosmic terms. I would concede it as a valid point of order to challenge my bias towards comic Nebulos over cartoon Nebulos in what is supposed to be a neutral part of the Hub forum. Martin

That's not the Vulcan I meant. I didn't mean the Vulcan where Vulcans come from. Well, there may be Vulcans on Vulcan, but not Star Trek Vulcans.
And... I am ashamed I didn't nominate Arrakis myself. Thank you for correctly putting it in Matin. I am a worm.

Martin probably woke up this morning to a basket of stench eggs on his doorstep as a bribe from Commander Quest!! I remain neutral without more reliable background information. For all I know, the stinkoids may be invaders themselves who wiped out the planet's previous inhabitants prior to the arrival of MANTA Force, so I would not rush to label them noble and heroic without evidence to back that up. Did they make any efforts to make friends with MANTA Force? Martin

Sadly we only have the story from the side of MANTA Force who immediately started installing military forces on the planet upon arrival such as the Battle Station and calling in Red Venom from Earth even before the Stinchoids made their presence known. Also the Stinchoids have never invaded Earth. They seem like nice chaps really.

It appears that two of our seven voters only wish to visit one planet on the list rather than five.
The arguments put forward have convinced me not to visit New Earth because MANTA Force are there causing aggro. And yet two voters would apparently like to take a holiday there.

I never knew that the Lord of the Rings world was called Arda. Yeah, it's High Elvish for the world. You could argue it shouldn't be in this poll as Tolkien considered his stories of Arda to be a mythology set in Earth's long forgotten past, though its continents don't really match any period in our Earth's geological history. The World of Fire and Ice may also be viewed as a variation on Earth. And the Third Earth of Thundercats is hinted at being a distant future incarnation of our Earth. But there are sufficient differences between all three and our Earth for me to consider them to be different planets for the purposes of this poll. Martin

And the High Elvish for Middle Earth, the continent on which The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings take place, is... Endor!
