Surprised to see that the local Notcutts garden centre stocks the line! The only place I have previously seen them was in Smyths.

I keep looking at these and thinking how much they remind me of the big pile of bootleg Ultraman monster toys that were the source of some of the more random early Dungeons and Dragons monsters. I can just see how you'd apply the same process to these:-
*stares at Magma Lizard* *thinks* "Umm.... AC3 because Bob has that overpowered magic sword and keeps being able to hit all the monsters... That's it - because it is Magma it melts metal weapons if they hit it. Oh, better let Bob have a save to avoid that or he'll get cross. But we'll say he has to save vs Death Ray, that's his weak save... Should take that sword out of the game finally.
How do I make this interesting though, so it isn't just a monster in a room.... I know, it can swim through the ground by melting it and letting it reharden behind it, because it is full of Magic Magma. Like Dimension Door, only once a round instead of its normal movement. They'll have to beware it coming at them from all sides. Oooh! If its full of Magic Magma maybe I should give it a breath weapon like a Dragon - a big fan of magma shooting out of its mouth. That'd be cool! Or, hot anyway........"
In case of confusion - this is me saying that I think these critters are brilliantly evocative and proper old-school bonkers in the best way.

Understandable, I mean - he does have a lump of apparently radioactive crystal on the end of his nose. This could be somewhat inconvenient.

The two new dragons have grown on me. My local shop had them in.
I decided to support my local economy.
The new ice dragon is actually very good. The cabbage dragon is OK.
