The retro 2 packs also have lots of accessories, what's on the card plus an extra bag of kit. Interesting, I hadn't picked up on that. Still, I do prefer the modern figure aesthetic to the 'o-ring' one. Back in G.I. Joe Classified, I have acquired the Crimson Alley Viper. A straight recolour, but so much better looking than the orange release. Martin

It's all original 82 Joe accessories so 60s/70 would be about right EDIT The sub, left photo bottom right, I haven't been able to place the original owner of The mortar in the right-hand picture reminds me of the one Murdock had in the A-Team 4-pack: www.toymania.com/334archives/ateam/murdock.htmMartin

They're probably modelled on the same real life weapon or quite possibly the Galoob A Team one has been KO'd from the 2 year earlier GI Joe Weapon.
It wouldn't be the only time that GI Joe weapons were KO'd DAPOL ICE WARRIOR I'M LOOKING AT YOU!!!!

quite possibly the Galoob A Team one has been KO'd from the 2 year earlier GI Joe Weapon. They named the A-Team 4-pack baddies Cobra, Python, Rattler and Viper, which doesn't sound at all like they were nicking ideas from G.I. Joe. OK, we've gone from TFs to Joe to A-Team. How many of these posts need moving to another thread now? Martin

IIRC the O ring figures have the correct gauge of foot peg hole for the X-Over vehicles and the the more articulated ones still have the smaller ones used on the 25th and Movie lines Ah HA. Thank you for making that decision easy Mr Ayres. We're not at home to mismatched millimetres in this house.

Really looking forward to this. When it's cheap.
This line really does have killer robot heads. Megatron's is fantastic and this Soundwave looks spot on. Bumblebee is also really good.

Really looking forward to this. When it's cheap. Same. Ditto. (Not Dettol.) And yeah, the head sculpts for this line have so far all been great. Can't wait. But will. As long as I need to.

Ask yourself "why is that Ravage blue?" Okay. Llama, why is that Ravage blue? Now what..? ... I suppose my guess would be to match Marvel comics printing colours? Or something like that? Although the real answer will be because it's on the same sprue as Soundwave, I'd imagine.

How about "it's a prepaint of SS86 Ravage and they want you to buy it again a year down the line"?

How about "it's a prepaint of SS86 Ravage and they want you to buy it again a year down the line"? No, it's a re-use of MP Ravage. -Ralph

Yeah, the one that everyone seemed to hate when it was released as a Masterpiece.
(I think it's fine)

They did? But aye, he's fine. Actually a really nice little toy with a very clever transf- conversion scheme. People are weird.
I see Phil's thinking, but I'm not sure they'd re-use the MP mold for the SS86 toys - mostly because the Gen/SS cassettes are smaller than the MP ones.

If I remember correctly, folks were comparing it unfavourably with the Ravage that came with Hound. I may be misremembering, that's happening a lot lately.

Yeah I was one of those who prefer the Hound Ravage to the Masterpiece. Not that theres anything particularly wrong with MP Ravage, I just thought they nailed the design on Universe Ravage.

Finally got round to opening the o-ring figures from the Pulse sale. They look great with the crossover Transformers. The larger scale Transformers with 3.75 inch human figures really works. I'd be well into a full line of these. A TF and a couple of carded figures per wave, three or four times a year would rock. Course the price would be a problem.

Been dusting recently, necessary post Orelly men as there's a thick layer everywhere, and it occured to me that this shelf still makes me smile every time I look at it. There's something about the interaction between the lines that really zings. I really do need the Thunder Machine.

Yeah, it's fun - they're proper toys. And it also helps to show the scale of the Transformers - we rarely get to see in toy form how big they're meant to be, because we don't usually get figures of the human characters.

Yes, the scale is one of the things. Megatron towering over Cobra Commander, who thinks he has rule over the robot.
Imagine a crossovers Devastator...
