The real environmental tragedy is that these were produced in the first place.
In this hobby it’s best not to dwell too much on the impact of plastic production, but vinyl is particularly bad.

The article doesn't actually state the product is going to landfill. No. They'll never tell us what they're actually going to do with them. But this is a large company that exists purely to make a lot of money for a small number of people - they will spend the least amount of money possible on disposing of the stock so as to not impact profits, and presumably that'll be landfill. I'd imagine that there's probably some tax law as well which means that if they do anything other than send them to landfill then they won't be able to write the loss in revenue off against tax or something. |
