New figures, huh? Maybe Joe has found another clip in his pouch, another arrow in his quiver....

Another magazine on his webbing...
I like the look of that Heavy Duty/Stilleto two-pack - strength versus speed, pretty classic match-up. And honestly I can see myself being tempted by the Joe Three-pack, even if only for that .338 that Shooter is toting. Actually, I'm going to need to recruit a spotter for Bolt-Action once I source the web-gear to finish her off...
I'm not a fan of the head-sculpt on the female Cobra officer. But on the other hand, the modern Joes have fairly easily swappable heads, and I have a spare ROC Baroness around here somewhere I could swap it out for...
*sigh* I'm supposed to be cutting the manpower, not looking to recruit additional personnel...

It makes it clear that any changes to the Transformers conventions and fan club are not to do with Fun Pub's shortcomings if Hasbro are still happy to work with them.

Not necessarily. Don't forget that Transformers is a Major Brand, whereas GI Joe isn't. Hasbro have different expectations of what they want to see out of a Major Brand and out of the licenses for one than they do that don't fall into that category. So it is quite possible that whilst Fun Pubs performance on the Joe property is meeting Hasbro's expectations for an "other" brand, but they aren't meeting Major Brand expectations.
Alternatively it could be a strategic move, part of a consolidation of what they are doing with Transformers at that higher level. It may not be that they are unhappy with the results of the license, they just want to go a different way with it.

Some really nice looking stuff there actually. Like the Heavy Duty with the big .50. (I've always felt that the fact that he _can_ casually carry that thing around is perhaps more intimidating than the fact that he _does_ somehow). I'm rather tempted by the Outback/Falcon/Shooter three-pack as well. They are all quite nice looking figures, and there is some great kit in both sets.
On other AF news, I am trying to get my customs back on track. I've settled on a repainted Tracey brother, possibly with a headswap, for Extract (CSAR/Pilot specialist), and rethought the colour-schemes for Double-Tap (Mara Jade repaint, was going to be a black/dark grey scheme but I think a green scheme to go with Extract works better) and Two-step (Batwoman's dad says red doesn't pop as much at night in an urban environment, so I'll take his advice).
But, I am pondering a quandry - now that Marauder Inc have solved the problem of where to get tactical webbing and stuff for those that need it I can get back on track with Bolt-Action. The quandry is what do I add to the order in terms of headgear for her. Already decided that a helmet isn't going to suit but that leaves me to decide between:-
Cap, Forage 1 (One) Hat, Boonie 1 (One) Hat, Beret 1 (One)
Life would be so much easier if Action Force had proper uniform regulations like normal units... :-)

Astonished to see the three-pack of figures from the cartoon Joe movie at a comic mart today. £30 with the backing card. If I had had just one drink I know I would have bought them but thankfully I had not. Their tat did call to me though. There was a momentary wobble.

Golobulus, Nemesis Enforcer and a Cobra-la Trooper.
Had there been drinks at least one of us would have bought them.

Not only have I received the Triggerhappy detailed elsewhere in this forum, I have also received from our Master of Toyfu, a two-pack of Marksmen! I am the happy recipient of the Low-Light/Night Viper two pack from the GI Joe 30th Anniversary line. I've coveted this particular pairing for a while, so it was an extremely pleasant surprise!
They certainly live up to expectations. Like the rest of the Anniversary Line they are absolutely fantastic sculpts. Low-Light's craggy, determined face is absolutely superb. The set also comes with a fantastic range of accessories - backpacks for both characters, slick red-goggles for Low-Light and a big set of 1st Generation NVG's for the Night Viper, a secure radio-set, a spotting scope, an UZI submachine gun, M-4 Carbine, pump-action shotgun, a really nice disassembleable sniper rifle in a rifle case (I think it is based on the Cheyenne Tactical M-200) for Low-Light and a clutch of accessories for the same - bipod, ballistic computer, suppressor - along with a knife, machete and a small-calibre pistol, and a Dragunov Marksman rifle with a moulded on muzzle brake and with red trim which rather fetchingly matches the Night Viper's colours (I suspect the hand of Dr Mindbender in this particular piece of procurement).
Really, really nice set - which go rather nicely into my small Joe/AF collection as it stands, and which will complement my customs nicely once I get a chance to unpack them and get back to the finishing touches on Bolt-Action and Extract. (After all - a former "night spotter" specialist is quite a sensible person to team-up with a scout-sniper and a CSAR operative really.
Really nice set, very much up to the quality bar of the ROC and POC single-packs both in terms of quality of the figures and the generosity of the extras that come with them.

This pops up on JoeADay this morning: www.joeaday.com/super-joe-in-the-sears-wishbook/Can anyone remember the name of the toyline that the Rocket Command Center was sold in the UK under? As I say in the comments I recognise it from a print ad seen in Star Wars Weekly c1978 but don't think it was Action Man or Super Joe. So odd seeing the Action Man Super Pursuit Craft in Orange!

A little bit of hard work and a trawl through lots of SW Weekly adverts suggests the toyline was called War of the Rays thevintagetoyadvertiser.org/2013/08/24/w-is-for-war-of-the-rays/Looking at the ad there I think there may have been another for the Rocket Command Center because I really really wanted that toy when I was young!

I've got a fairly hefty GI Joe collection I'm intending to offload. There's plenty of figures, in various conditions, and quite a few vehicles too (including the Desert Fox, the Battle Wagon, the Cobra Earthquake, Destro's Despoiler and several others).
Is that of interest to anyone? I've got a full list I can send to folk if they're interested, before I start sticking things on eBay or taking them to charity shops. I'd rather they went to a fan, and I'm open to offers.
Cheers,
Jonathan

One of my friends from across the pond has started a blog where he is reviewing all of his early 90s GI Joe collection. Even though I know little about GI Joe I am finding it interesting reading thedragonfortress.wordpress.com/From it I have learned that General Hawk keeps an extra bullet on him at all times in case he is forced to play Settlers of Catan.
