I had a dream last night and I was engaged - that wasn't what the dream was about it was just a bit of backstory. Anyway this morning at the JIDTA someone says to me "I reckon you'll get married next year". Most strange. Oh and then something else happened. Y'see last time I was in, a bit of equipment went kaboom with a white flash and everything. Anyway apparently someone's been and had a look at it and reckons I could have been killed! I think the exact set of circumstances required for this to have brought about my demise were pretty unlikely. However I had stopped paying attention whilst they were explaining that bit as I was stuck thinking about how I could have become an ex-Dave.

Jeepers! Glad you weren't ex-Daved. Has the knowledge made you feel any differently about life?
In other news, I twat a van's wing mirror with my Ambulance's wing mirror today. Oops!

Dad came home from Hospital yesterday nearly 6 weeks after suffering his heart attack. His memory is getting better but he's still v v tired and gets confused.

Jeepers! Glad you weren't ex-Daved. Has the knowledge made you feel any differently about life? There was a moment of thinking, had I snuffed it, my list of achievements would make for a depressingly short read. I certainly now feel I want to do more with my life. I also feel a greater sense of I could die at any time and when I do go, I really REALLY don't want it to happen there. Must get away ASAP... edit: I'd also hope things continue to improve for mr Ayres.

All the best to Mr Ayres. Funnily enough, since doing this job of mine, and since I've had a baby, it's made me look at mortality a whole different way. I can see my parents growing older, I'm now a father, and I see all sorts of things at work, good and bad things. It's made me really take a look at my own mortality, and I'm not finding it a cheary subject. Oh, lifes good! Good job, great family, I'm healthy etc, but still I'm at that point in life where I've suddenly found quite alot of my life is behind me now and it's weird to think about growing old. In other news, Shockprowl has just come into work for the late shift 'till 0200, playing with the drunk little boys and girls. Swell. Still, getting paid for it (and at this precise moment I'm getting paid for Hubbing! Yes!).

Glad your Dad's home, Phil. I hope he's happy to be out of the hospital environment, and responds positively to familiar surroundings.
This week has felt funny, though I'm not quite sure why. Wednesday night was the Lib Dem candidate hustings at the Mariott hotel, then Thursday I went to Wallingford/Didcot and back in one day for a work visit. I suppose that may have thrown off my sense of what day it was, though having a day out of the office doesn't usually do that to me. Saw Planet Terror last night, which was too gruesome for my tastes (as I thought it might be), then today I had a very charming lunch date, though I won't hold my breath for anything serious to come of it. And now it's still only half way through the weekend... which doesn't feel right somehow.
I feel like I've gained or lost a day somewhere.
Hmmm.
I'm going to bed.

This Sunday will mark my first day off, between uni and work, since Scotcon.
I'm so tired.

Blimey you have been working alot Nick. Shockprowl's back in again this evening, only 'till midnight tonight. Still get some drunk little boys and girls, but Sunday's usually aren't nearly as bad as Fri/Sat, touch wood. Been doing DIY today before work, and managed to squeeze in a little play with the Piglet, so not had any time to play with my new toys- er, models! Boo Hoo! 3 rest days start tmw!
Oh and in other news, I've had the green light (kinda) from Mrs Shockprowl to get MP Megatron for Christmas! YIPEEEEE!!! She's a sweetie! Can't restist my boyish charms for long!

Dear lord, don't usually like to post about individual jobs, but just got back from a pile up on the A1(M). 5 cars, Utter carnage, but thankfully NO ONE was seriously hurt, unbelievably. Amazes me the amount of people that walk away from car wrecks. Modern cars are designed to crumple around the "cock-pit", and they work. Well, for most anyway. Man, I'm as high as a kite after that job.
