For variety it would be nice if it was a Hartnell, but I'm not holding my breath.

They already have the animation assets for Troughton so the more they can use what they have that's existing the cheaper it is for theme.
(Oh wait, surely it's going to be Wheel??)

They seem to be going for stories they can reuse assets for, so Evil makes most sense. Impossible to know though. I can't remember which companies did which animations now, and I know the styles have changed. Have the current people done any Hartnell before?

I thought it odd they released a bit of wheel, but doing Macra and Faceless does suggest Evil would be next. Either would need a major new character in Victoria or Zoe. Evil would increase the chances of getting Fury though, so let it be that!

My most desired story to be have any footage returned/ be animated is THE MASSACRE though I expect that is some way down the list to be done (if such a list now exists).

Do we know what the DVD is and what the Big Finish downloads will be?
I hope they won't do the 'you get loads of stories but they're actually all part 1s' thing they like doing

Not a clue. Subscribers haven't got it yet. Given how many BF downloads I have I will probably have them all!

Is that £9.99 with all those extras because it's a Smith's exclusive again? Or is that the standard issue we're all getting?
Oddly what would make me buy the £9.99 one, if that isn't the standard one, is the index. A proper index for DWM would be great.

That's good. So does that mean subbers get the full package at no extra cost? Nice! Index me up, baby!

We should. I'll be hacked off I don't. The previous NEXT ISSUE bit in the last edition noted this issue would be £9.99.

My subs copy is here, with all the extras
DVD is bits off the blu rays to tempt you. Some s26 stuff, not yet released, and something left off the s18 set.
Big Finish freebie is Destiny of the Doctors.
There's also a free audiobook of Invisible Enemy which I registered for and then discovered you need to use their app or listen online
Paul Cornell's Uncle Tewwance piece is FAB, some more stuff on the great man within including an article on some of his best books and the outline for the first EDA the Eight Doctors.

Glad I am a subber and so didn't have to pay £10 for this issue. A dvd of clips from Blu-Rays? Blu rays that are mostly out of print so if you are tempted by this clips to buy them...YOU CAN'T. An audio set that BF has already had in umpteen sales? An audiobook you can't directly download outside an app?
What on Earth were they thinking??

Agreed. It's pretty disappointing that they've almost doubled the cover price for stuff that is effectively marketing materials. My thought process was exactly like Ralph's. The only thing I would say is that the BF stuff is at least a complete series, and quite a large one, rather than individual parts of multi-part stories. It seems the days of BF providing original content for DWM covermounts are long gone.
However, the index will be really useful. Not sure how many people for though.

Also as I already have an Audiobook account from the last freebie offer I am unable to get this one for Invisible Enemy. It either says my email is already in the system or tries to charge me £5.83 or prompts me to sign up for a monthly charge of £7.99. Er no. Eff off.

The last time there was a £10 issue of DWM it was: A: An optional edition. There was still a standard £6 version. B: The vinyl it came with was genuinely unique and the DWM audio freebie download was newish and hadn't been on sale before. C: You got 2 bookmarks. D: The audiobook download was actually redeemable. E: Andrew Pixley s11 guide was all new.

The S12 stuff on the DVD is really annoying. Admittedly there are a couple of unique items on the disc, but putting stuff on there from a release they know full well no one can buy is just rubbish.

Oh I meant to say, Richard Molesworth has the first of a two-part interview with Terrance Dicks in this month's Infinity magazine. Conducted in 2017. Covers his wider career as opposed to just Doctor Who.

"On the contrary, Doctor, you're going to help me. And if you do not, it'll be so much the worse for you, for this young lady, and for thousands of other people I could mention if I happened to have the Paris telephone directory on my person!" This week on Forty Years Of Tom Baker we're watching Doctor Who episode 513 City of Death: Part Four 40yearstombakerdw.blogspot.com/2019/10/513-city-of-death-part-four.html
