Inspired by reaching the end of season 3 the other day in my TNG rewatch I grabbed the soundtrack vol. 4 CD off of eBay for a few Euros, specifically for the Tin Man suite and its panpipey goodness. It's arrived now and is everything I wanted, it will be my chill out music for the foreseeable future.

In a slightly (very) out of order way I'm now up to Star Trek The Animated series. This is very exciting as I have never seem them before. This is brand new original series Trek for me to enjoy.
And Ive also discoverd that most of the Trek movies are on Amazon Prime so I have them to look forward to as well.

Enjoy! It's pretty decent and due to live action writer strikes it was able to net many of the writers from the 60's show so it really does feel like a 4th/5th season. It also helps that DC Fontana was essentially the showrunner. Roddenberry put his name on it but did hee haw. -Ralph

I didn't realise until now, but he wrote some excellent episodes of DS9 as well. "In the Pale Moonlight" and "For the Uniform" among them.

That was excellent. Enjoyed it from start to finish. Right balance of humour, nostalgia and information. Audience at the screening I saw were a good bunch too. Lots of fun moments. Other than the guy who kept patting himself on the back for loudly for shouting out the lines from the show just before they were said.
Lots of things not touched upon so plenty of room for extras in future releases. Hard to choose what to cover I imagine. It has done its job though - I really want to get going on a DS9 marathon.
Couldn't stay for 'extra' writers discussion after but imagine this will be an extra somewhere sometime.
The remastered episode bits looked gorgeous but filming style clearly meant for TV and not the Big Screen. The space battles were mind blowing though and looked amazing.
If this comes out on shiny disk it will be a definite purchase.

The daughter's got quite into Trek lately - she started off by being curious about Q due to Discord in MLP, so I showed her a couple of TNG Q episodes, then she found TAS on Netflix - which she liked a lot, and when she mentioned the tribble episode I downloaded Trouble for her and now I see she's been downloading and watching more TOS without me. So today I got her to watch Trials and Tribble-ations, which she liked a lot. It's lovely to see her genuinely enthusiastic about Trek!
(Her favourite character is Uhura, and she loved The Lorelei Signal with the women very competently and efficiently saving the men)

Same as the previous post in the Space 1999 thread. I was given a BR set of all the trek films as a Christmas present a while ago. Have I watched any? Have I buggery.

Delighted to find the book and cassette packs for the The Wrath of Khan and The Search for Spock at a collector's fair as my childhood copies are long gone. Used too play/read them to death though The Motion Picture was the one I liked the most. Thrilling stuff. Would be nice to find a copy of that at some point!
