Bridge of Spies is a good film. Tom Hanks, always very watchable.

Watched the last episode of Luther last night.
Cracking stuff.
For the uninitiated - imagine Batman vs The Joker was a twisted love story and Batman was a police detective and Batman is Idris Elba.
Brilliant stuff, sad to see it end, but Idris has talked about a movie to cap it all off. I wouldn't be unhappy with that.

Watched the last episode of Luther last night. For the uninitiated - imagine Batman vs The Joker was a twisted love story and Batman was a police detective and Batman is Idris Elba. Well, now you see, I just have an image of Batman and Joker sat awkwardly in a restaurant trying to make small-talking as staff and other patrons nervously look-on.

Caught up on Luther yesterday. Highly enjoyable. They always seem to say this the last one, but it comes back for more. Hopefully will again.

The Kaptain seems to think his story is done. {Spoiler}I could see him being called upon by Shenk in a Silence of the Lambs kind of way. I can't see him being a copper again after this. Is Alice dead though?

I was watching 'Maniac' on Netflix a few months back, but I just sort of petered out before the last two episodes.
I'm just alternating between the original 70s Cutie Honey anime and the first season of Hannibal.

Finished the second season of Iron Fist last week, and like everyone else was left wanting a Daughters of the Dragon series more than anything else. Rather than going headlong into Daredevil 3 we're taking a sidestep to see what Black Lightning is like. Bit of a gear shift, but we'll give it a go.

Turnbull has been in contact with Burns this weekend. I suspect Ralph has developed a mind control device. Turnbull introduced Burns to Shauna's Country. Good news, chums! The channel it is on (Keep it Country) comes to Full Freeview from January 21st! REMINDERS WILL BE GIVEN. -Ralph

Oh wow. The casting director on tonight's Midsommer Murders repeat on ITV3 clearly had a bet on with someone: Haydn Gwynn, Neil Pearson and Jeff Rawle in the same show! www.imdb.com/title/tt1713787

Mostly Shakma.
However, True Detective has started up again, have it recorded and will sit down and watch a few episodes on Friday night I think.

Haydn Gwynn and Neil Pearson did a Lewis together a few years back, playing a couple. Pearson's playing a gambler, at one point he gets asked what he bets on and the reply is pure Dave Charnley!
Forgot to watch their Christmas Special this year

It isn't quite as "gritty" as the Netflix Marvel shows, and sometimes I think it has more things it want to do than actually fit properly into its length of seasons, but I have enjoyed it so far. Bit of a different flavour when you have a superhero who is closer to my own age than most of the cinematic ones (yes, I'm still a few years older than him, but I have a certain amount more in common than I do with TV Ollie Queen, or Danny Rand. Watched Alien Covenant last night. I get what Scott's trying to do with these films and in principle I like the idea. I think there's a solid scifi story behind the Prometheus arc without it necessarily having to connect to the Alien series (although obviously it does because that's the point). The engineer/human/synthetic thing is nice. The problem is the hamfisted way he's trying to mash it all together. Covenant spends half the film trying to be a 2001 style exposition on synthetic life and the other half being a greatest hits compilation of Alien and Aliens.
I think that's the problem. These two new films have a good basic idea behind them but they can't work out what type of film they want to be.

An impressive film, albeit a little dry. I can see how people who aren't necessary interested in WW2 not being as hooked as others by it.

Enjoying it immensely, I suspect Ralph will be unhappy that there is no theme tune remix available.
