Not much happening here, no word from the place I interviewed with and don't expect anything back for a couple of weeks as they still have people to interview. No other responses to resumes either. Work is increasingly a drag, especially as the Boss was too much of a tight ass to pay for air conditioning, so temps range from a balmy 24 degrees up past 30, depending on the outside weather. Being stuck in a small enclosed space with no air flow in those temps is really dragging me down.

I got hardly any sleep last night so here I am up early with no work to go to today. I'm certain though that I have a poltergeist in my bedroom. I figured this out a quite some time ago when, every now and then a stack of books on the top of my bookshelf keep falling off for no good reason and last night this little visitor tried something different. As I lied awake last night I could hear the selotape unpeeling itself from one my TF posters on the wall. At exactly 2.05am the poster fell down. I stuck it back up and wondered for a moment. Maybe the poltergeist doesn't like TF posters on the wall but then I realised that it never tries to make a poster of the 1986 animated movie fall off the wall but it does seem to make two Dreamwave posters fall off the wall. My deduction: the poltergeist doesn't like Pat Lee's artwork!

Had a hospital appointment today. Bad news is I will need surgery. Boo. Good news is that it is only minor surgery, yay.

I'm sure it'll go off without a hitch, Matt, and that it'll have the desired effect on your health and quality of life.
Well, as KAUST had coughed up my orientation schedule I verified that I had the time off from TRU. Now I am definitely not scheduled to work next Thursday, Friday or Saturday. I am, however, working tomorrow, Sunday, Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday so it turns out today was my last full day to prepare. If I'd known that I'd have gone to the credit union for Egyptian currency this afternoon!

Well, someone keyed my dad's car again last night so I have to set up the FUCKING webcam again. No idea what software I used last time, no idea what I'm doing, no idea where to find what I need and a sneaking suspicion I'm going to be up half the night trying to get whatever program I finally locate to work properly. Also, very little likelihood that the bastard in question is going to come back and do it again tonight.
And I'm up at 7 tomorrow for work with the PC going next to my head all night. The joys.

Why not sleep the other way round just for one night, Nick? I can sleep with my PC next to my head and on all night. And the lights on. But that is because I have terrible narcalepsy in the evenings and literally just blink off

Having taken an impromptu long weekend after realising that I still had enormous amounts of unused holiday for this weekend I have had a rather good few days.
Friday was spent in Stirling - wandering through some of the woods on the outskirts, and down to the place I used to live to eat my lunch outside the ruins of Cambuskenneth Abbey, wherein lay intered the remains of the king who brought Orkney and Shetland in Scots hands but lost Berwick to the English (a more than fair trade I would be inclined to say).
Saturday I spent at Edinburgh Zoo. I had a very pleasant day seeing the Penguins, Chimpanzees and the Wolverine (he's the best there is at what he does, and what he does is stare at the visitors...) amongst other things.
Impressively hot days mind you - it has been a struggle to keep my house cool enough to sleep recently. Hopefully the light rain that we have had today will have taken the edge off the heat a little bit.
One more day off, in which I sense perhaps some pottering in the kitchen or the garden coming on, depending on what the weather is like.
