Cowboy hats at a wedding sound like a great idea to me. But I am very tired so may not be entirely rational. :-)
Elliott, sorry to hear that you've managed to damage the ligaments - hope that the tubi-grip helps it to heal.
Hmm, my week has been hectic but not entirely productive. I don't seem much further forward with anything than I was on Monday. A bit of a Red Queen's Race to be honest. Looking forward to Friday evening all told.

Not the greatest of weeks anyway, and then it ends with Channel 4 not wanting to give me money.

I must have missed somehting sorry - Channel 4? Bad end to week here as well - had standing row with receptionsit/accounts First. she has a go at em for answering the phone - we have a system which rings on all phones and she says I answer it too quick so she cannot do her job - I should let it ring at least three times before picking up - I told her If my phone rings I do not know if direct dial or all phones so I will pick it up - she says no - leave it - I grumble about would not have to pick it up if she did her job - it does not end well Later, sorting ou expences, she says my accounts are too complex and cannot understand what I have claimed for, depsite me going through it with her last week - we both get a bit knarky Not good

Shockprowl lives! I have returned from the nether world of sick-leave with my poorly knee, that is now back to normal! Bit of a shock getting up at 0445 this AM! Whilst I was off with my knee, Piglet gave me her cold. Kinda killed to birds with one stone, off for 2 reasons like. Worked out ok, 'cos it was the kind of cold where you feel poo, but perhaps not enough to be at work, although one shouldn't really be coughing over poorly patients, doens't look good (mind you, the amount of grief you get when you are off makes you come in sick anyway). So all is well on the Shockprowl-front. Piglet's just about over her cold too. Got all our Christmas shopping done, and I received a huge box of Beast Wars figs off the wonderfull Mr. Barricade whilst I was injured to speed me back to full fitness!
Hope everyone's injuries/sickness/probs are being sorted, seems most folkes haven't had the easiest of times during my enforced absence. And man oh man did I have Hub-withdrawl! Usually I only have to tollerate 3 days between shift runs when I'm at home without PC. But 2 weeks! Ohhhh.... Dived onto the PC first thing after checking Ratchet, when we got a darn job! Bloody patients dialing 999 when there's Hubbing to be done!

When my alarm went off at 0445 this AM for a 0600 start, part of my brain screamed in abstract terror and jumped out of my ear. Haven't seen it since. Hope I'll find it under the bed when I get home. I did get to listen to the shipping forcast on the way to work though.

I must have missed somehting sorry - Channel 4? I think it's more likely, I just forgot to mention it. It's not very interesting. Basically Channel 4 have been asking for proposals for new drama, I sent mine in and...well presumably it was rubbish. It would have required a move, which is just what I need. Sadly it was not to be.

Fairly quiet weekend. Enjoyable afternoon in the pub yesterday slowly supping a few pints while catching up on leisure reading - a nice respite after the Essay of Doom. Just pottering about today, most active thing I'm planning is a trip to Spec Savers to put in a pair of glasses for repair.

Been so busy this wkend. All the crazy Christmas shoppers falling off things/under things etc etc. Blimey. One good thing about working shifts, you get mid week to do things like shopping and the like when it aint as busy. Only just managing to throw a in a quick post 'between jobs! Inconsiderate patients... humbug humbug

Well, late crew's in, so I should be away on time (finish at 1600), barring a major incident. 3 days off, looking after Piglet, finishing off Christmas shopping. Gunna have fish and chips for tea, and I just might slip down the odd ale or two. Hurragh!

Popped into the pub this afternoon and deliberately ordered the most expensive food on the menu. Sometimes you just have to, don't you? It's nice to do something like that once in a blue moon.
So I polished that off and started reading my book. An older bloke noticed I was reading and walked over to me, quoted some Dickens, shook my hand and walked away. I think the sight of someone reading in a pub broke his mind. It was a strange little encounter.

A relatively quiet week by my standards. It does look like my high blood pressure was the cause of my headaches. Prescribed medication is doing the trick though, the only unfortunate thing is I will be taking them from now on - which I had wanted to avoid.
Bought some graphic novels and a dvd from amazon marketplace to cheer me up.

Week 48 didn't work out terribly well all told. I was glad when the weekend rolled around. Weekend has been rather good to me. I ate some good food, drank a couple of pints of Guinness, and watched some good films and TV shows on DVD.
Had a few work type things to do - a load of stuff to take to the charity shops yesterday - which I did nice and early so I could get out of town ahead of the bedlam that would otherwise engulf the place.
Not been enjoying the thumping of fireworks over the last couple of evenings. I really wish they would give it a rest. Any evil spirits in the vicinity will long since have decamped to somewhere quieter.

I hope the evil spirits have been banished. By bringing back this thread, I have trapped them in a time portal.
