Over at IDW's New Releases section we have a 5 page preview of Spotlight Ramjet. New ReleasesGuido's cover is top notch. Andy

I never look at the 5-page previews as when a comic costs almost £3, I don't want to have previously read a quarter of it already.
I do, however, check out the covers. The Guido Ramjet cover makes me smile.

Eh, I find you have to really squint to read the lettering in the previews anyway so the images don't make much sense until I have the full comic in front of me.
I like whoever the colourist is for the first cover. Nice work.

Wonder if that 4-panel thing is gonna be throughout the whole comic?

Looks good, nice to see new characters being slowly introduced into the story arc (I didn't read the Avengers cross over and from reviews I'm glad I didn't). Be interesting to see what scheme he has up his sleeve, though you just know he'll get beat down by big Megs with him being a total nut job...

The Avengers crossover is tosh, read as that it's quite enjoyable but it's nowhere near the tone of the IDW books, and it suffered a bit from Tyler Kirkham's art - which was a bit stiff (no real surprise considering he's a Top Cow studio artist).

Picked up Spotlight: Ramjet today. I thought it was a hoot, personally. I suspect it will be slaughtered on TF message boards for 'not being serious enough'.

Yeah, I enjoyed it. The mini-constructicons looked cool, but the Euro signs were my favourite.

I thought it was a fun and very amusing book. It will go down like a lead balloon with the target audience though. I don't think we've seen such a deliberately wacky official TF comics since Marvel UK days.

Well I've bought my copy and it will either arrive on Saturday or Monday but I am looking forward to it.

Picked up a copy of "Spotlight:Ramjet" this afternoon after work. Great stuff - very entertaining and brought a smile to my face for all the right reasons. Definitely one of the most fun issues IDW have put out. But I too can see it being well and truly slated in fan circles. However, I enjoyed it immensely - the perfect antidote to a day that was rather variable.

One of the most entertaining TF comics I've ever read. Loved the Mini-Constructicons.

It was quite fun. I thought the Emcees were pretty funny (I was very much put in mind of the Beastie Boys, which I think was the desired effect), and the ending was satisfying and a little unexpected. I daresay the Avengers thing gives some background to Ramjet's utterly delusional egotism, but I can happily take it as is. The end was quite satisfying!

I really enjoyed it also, received my copy from Oneshallstand coupla days ago. I was initially taken back by the change of pace, the story, as fun as it was, didn't really seem to fit into anything that's going on in the grander story arch- or does it? Good comic though, shame old R.J. was wacked at the end though, boo-hoo.
What's the references to the Avengers/TF comic? Does R.J. feature in this?

Ramjet arrived on Earth in the Avengers/TF series, and made Starscream-esque threats to Megatron when he wasn't looking.

Ah, thanks for the info Gaga. So the Avengers cross-over is part of the IDW-verse? Might have to get it, except folkes don't appear to be too impressed with it.

I thought it was hilarious, myself. A lot of people seem to have taken it terribly seriously.

It's a bit of harmless fun. The tone is very much set in issue 2 when Doctor Doom declares he's too important to waste his valuable time with these idiots and literally walks out of the comic to appear in more classy publications.

And for anyone who still hadn't clicked with the tone, the bit in #3 when Captain America randomly flies around in a quinjet while singing at the top of his lungs, for no reason at all, pretty much summed things up.
Well that and the bit where Ramjet was sent back into his cupboard.

I thought it was hilarious, myself. A lot of people seem to have taken it terribly seriously. Read the first issue whilst sleep-deprived abroad, and thought it was harmless enough, even quite fun. Read the first two issues properly when I got back and didn't like it even as parody... the Marvel characters seem to be handled every bit as awkwardly as the TFs. First block subscription I've ever cancelled, and it's really hard to believe the same author did Spotlight: Ramjet.

I'd only read issue 1 and it was a laugh but the art by Tyler Kirkham was enough for me to be a bit meh about picking up the rest of the series.

So, in short, I'm not missing anything important by not reading it and Spotty: Rammy works perfectly well on it's own.
Well thank heavens for that.

I neither liked nor disliked the Ramjet spotlight, it just seemed like a bit of a pointless story that went nowhere but was good for a chuckle.
