I got a PM today asking about the Seacon set that some people chipped in for for me (I'm not actually sure who all chipped in). I had made mention of appreciating it in the 'tell us about your new acquisitions' thread but it occurs to me that folk may have missed that post so thanks again.

Is it my imagination or are the colours on Jawbreaker incorrect?

According to some of the pictures the date stamp on the toys is 1987 - the year they were originally out (I think). If they were genuine re-issues I'd guess Hasbro or Takara would put the current date on them. If that was the case then these could actually be knock-offs.

So is. Even with some mould-fail on this set, it cannot be worse than Bruticus, must have.

Colours arent quite right, the grey is a little light, and snaptraps head looks horrible. Still bought.

I'm feeling quite underwhelmed by these guys actually. More because I was hoping to see more paint apps and tampos instead of stickers, like the TFCC set.
As it is, it falls into the 'I will get it if it is cheap, and then probably sell it once I am bored' category

You never know, if the mould is back in circulation, Takara might release an Encore version with all the weapon stands and closer-to-the-original colours.

I'm amused that the price card at Botcon showed $49.99, but BBTS want $59.99. Ah, BBTS...
Not a fan of BBTS's shipping charges and with possible CUTA, I think I shall reluctantly pass on this set.

kapowtoys has a UK pre order for £65 delivered www.kapow-toys.com/product_info.php?products_id=3236&osCsid=dodrv0610oviuu1f9c9qu9f3o6BBTS want $59.99 Add in BBTS postage and it's $85.50 (current paypal xe is 1.51) which £56.57. Add on 20% of the price for a customs charge and you up to £65 and they'll be a bit more than that to pay whichever carrier delivers it to get it back - £8 for the GPO, £12 for Parcelfarce iirc. So Kapow looks a good option. I've not used them before but I know they've got a good rep on the 2005 boards so....
