What would be interesting is who would Megatron delegate command to in the absence of his trusted entourage? I suspect that like most dictators in the modern era Megatron wouldn't have gone in for much in the way of succession planning. I doubt that he would have trusted anyone other than his closest inner circle with command during a temporary absence (when embarking on the mission against the Ark he probably left orders to "keep doing what you are doing. I will be back gloriously victorious soon, I will be most displeased if anyone has developed ideas above their station". It would likely have been bedlam once they realised he wasn't coming back). As with many dictators Megatron struck me as focussed on personal power, so the thought of planning for what happens after his demise probably wasn't really on his agenda. By contrast I wouldn't be surprised if Shockwave had given the matter some distinct thought. Karl

It's hard to imagine a Decepticon leader outside of Megatron, Shockwave, Soundwave or Starscream. Of course, with just Thundercracker, Skywarp and the cassettes left they wouldn't be much of a combative force anyway. I can see it being Ravage though.

That would explain how Soundwave not only came to power but then left it very quickly - who else could do that without being marked as a possible usurper by Megs and Shockwave?

I can see it being Ravage though. Not sure that I can see Ravage being leader. In a group like the Decepticons being leader makes you a target for anyone who wants to be on top. Much better to make yourself indispensible to the leader and hide in his shadow. Keeps you alive, but close enough to the seat of power to gain considerable benefit from it. Karl
