Now if I was really brilliant I could figure out a way to do Wreckers #1 with the same bloated cast but not sucking...

A decent lampoon there Charles. The sort of fun poking that the Fun Publications stuff seems to be just asking for. Now if I was really brilliant I could figure out a way to do Wreckers #1 with the same bloated cast but not sucking... For some reason that puts me in mind of Warren Ellis' first issue of "Stormwatch", where he as good as has a scene where someone lists which characters get to stay in the book and tells the rest (not in so many words obviously) "You're all a bit mince and the new writer doesn't like you. You're sacked." Not quite what you are meaning as you are talking about actually using the overstuffed cast , but for some reason that sprung into my mind. Karl

"Oh no, a bomb just wiped all the cast except Spittor and he's mysteriously turned into 'Slapper' as was originally planned! Can you help out in the story, Actual Cast Of Beast Machines?" Not quite what you are meaning as you are talking about actually using the overstuffed cast , but for some reason that sprung into my mind. Primal Prime could ask half the team to "stand over there for a second" and then bugger off without them in the shuttle at the end... (And then he accidentally dies when he mistakes a can of Horribly Nasty Acid for his drink)

True.
Botcon/fun publications comics are written by gibbons.

Hehehe! Funny stuff, Charles. You're showing something the actual writers seem to be missing: imagination.
Still, who cares really when the response they're hoping for is for readers to pitch a fan tent when they see purple Hot Rod and his moustache.
Incidentally, where's the evil Arcee who stops her regular bikini-waxes?

Still, who cares really when the response they're hoping for is for readers to pitch a fan tent when they see purple Hot Rod and his moustache. I did see quite a bit of favourable fan response to the 'tache... Hot Rod had to create a moustache for the look, so I presume Evil-Arcee gets a load of metal filings together and patiently glues them onto her legs.

Come to think of it, surely a purple-headed Hot Rod is a really bad idea? It could be worse: a purple Hardhead?

Well, the comic's out and Botcon attendees have it - how bad is it? And I started on that threatened "Wreckers #1 but not as sucky" rewrite - eleven pages in...

Sorry to disappoint but it is in fac not that bad. Still flawed 10 lines of dialogue when one would have done. But I could tell what was going on throughout.

Because the problem with those wasn't too much dialogue, it was that is was based on a poor premise and that the dialogue that had been written was fairly awful. Karl

I can tell what's going on in convention comics I've read. It's just I wish I couldn't.
Except that Beast Wars: Critical Mass one Furman & Wildman did, that was fun.

Nah Primes fairly crap, way to much talk. Tone is sadly much the same but art is good and pace is better, cameos are less obtrusive and it does focus on well Cliffjumper, but at least that can/could be bought, it isnt full of characters that they dont intend to release.

I can hear the wheels in Turnbull's head turning. He's thinking: I shall buy this. If only I could be a true friend and stop him.

He's not thinking that at the moment. He's thinking, "Where the fook is my Green Lantern ring it should have arrived this morning."

Have read a synopsis on TF Wiki.
Wow. It sounds boring. Stuff takes ages to happen and when it does happen, there's little and it only happens because of bloody Cliffjumper. It's depressing, the April Fool's gag really was a smarter use of the concept.

Ah, the Fan-dubbed version continueth. I get far more entertainment out of this than I do out of the original version if truth be told.
