I've resisted Black Series all the way. Steered clear. Even when the vintage line came out with the classic card backs. But I finally broke. What did it was the Rebel Trooper. I love the scenes in the films with the background characters, Star Wars especially. The Rebel Trooper is so cool. I knew I needed him, Vader to choke hold him, and Tarkin to stand behind. Also a death Star trooper because they're cool sci-fi characters too. That's it, collection complete.
Tarkin is a fantastic figure! The facial resemblance is stunning for a 6" toy.

Entertainer had the SW: Solo 3 3/4 inch figures which I'd not seen at UK retail previously. Surely someone told Hasbro UK that the film, and thus the toys, had been pulled forward 6 months?

I saw Solo figures exactly once (in FPG) and never again. Hilariously, the local Sainsburgeries has just got in a shed load of Last Jedi figures and priced them at £11. For comparison, they had the same figures previously shelfwarming for about six months at £4.

But if Phil gets one...just one... -Ralph the current situation with me spending half my time in London is stretching the pennies somewhat...... £26 extra a week in train fares plus food. I can resist, 3 3/4 inch is where it's at for me

Me too. Transformers just arrived as I was beginning to forget Star Wars and swept them away, but those 3 3/4 inchers were there at the start.
But obviously forty years ago they didn't look that shit.

No, no they didn't. They looked.... AMAZING. How I'd stare and stare at available figures pictures on the card-backs, or later at the picture of the line of figures on the underside of my beloved cardboard Death Star. I'd slowly tick them off, one by one... great days.
Then, yeah, Transformers came along and it was EVEN BETTER! I never lost my love for Star Wars figures though, and kept collecting them on and off throughout my childhood. I had them all apart from a couple of the rare ones. And tons of vehicles.

I loved SW figures back in the day. I came in with the ROTJ line. Played with them in the garden and made bases oyt of rocks and turf.

...and I still do! Given chance anyway.

New 1970s-style Grand Moff Tarkin. "One of the most labor-intensive sculpts" and I believe it. It looks almost too good. Packed with a board game.
