Perhaps they could form a skiff-le band.

Today, a long running quest over. What did you find for Phil, Burns? I found Paige, which I have been hunting for high and low all across Greater Manchester (and did a quick search in a bit of Edinburger too) for the past few weeks! -Ralph

Is anyone hitting the stores this 'Triple' Force Friday?

Hadn't planned on it. Did Toys 'R' Us the last couple of midnight openings, but there are not Toys'R'ii any more, so I don't know where would be doing the opening, if at all. Any of the Smyths that might are too far away from me for that...

I didn't see any signs in Smyths about FULL FORCE FRIDAY.

I just stayed up too late taking pictures of toys anyway. Ah well.
I know this is heresy to admit, but I do like the look of the new toy of Poe's X-Wing... more so than the classics. Luckily both are retailing around the hundred quid mark, so I'll not be pilloried for my purchasing choices, 'cos... I ain't purchasing at those prices!

I've got the Luke X-Wing from.... I want to say 2003, which was the FX X-Wing with the Electronics gutted and the first version with a functional droid socket. Does me fine.
A Poe X-Wing with a droid socket IS tempting but it would need to be either the white or black versions and I'd need to see it taking older astromechs as well as BB droids. So if you see any pics of this new design doing that....

To distract from the fact that they've put as much effort into the RoS toyline as they did for TLJ and Solo and the whole lines are just going to languish unsold as a consequence!

Reading an article about toy lines licensed from film and TV. I'd no idea Palitoy gutted electronics from the early Kenner Star Wars vehicles like the X-wing for their UK release, or that the US version of the Death Star was a completely different plastic play set that Palitoy decided not to release over here, instead designing the legendary cardboard one themselves. It's awesome that one of the best Star Wars toys was actually a UK exclusive!

I love my Cardboard Death Star. It comes out, every now and then. As a child I... gosh I was so happy when I got it.
A plastic version would be nice though. Cardy has some, err, battle damage.

That's the thing though, Shockers. The US one was a totally different toy. Doesn't look as good:

A plastic version would be nice though. Cardy has some, err, battle damage. You can buy bits individually on ebay for the cardboard ones. Might be worth a bit of restoration with original parts - those Death Stars are worth a heck of a lot of money now.

I knew that there were different versions of the Death Star, but had no idea the X-Wing meant to have electronics. Bastards! The X-Wing was my first Star Wars toy! Damn and blast their greedy eyes.

I did, mainly because it gets reinstated for the Degobah X-Wing. IIRC the toys Palitoy changed are X-Wing
Death Star - completely different
Land of the Jawas - different base, no escape pod
Creature Canteen - different base and back drop
Droid Factory - different base which was available in two colours I seem to recall something about the Palitoy landspeeder having a bonnet that didn't open.
