Can we have some channeling, please, for Andy today as he's making the arduous trek from Scot-Land to Birmingham this day. We want him to arrive safely.
And then, tomorrow, we've got Martin coming across from Wales, the Brothers Pirrie from Derby, Andy Bogatan from Hull.
(The rest of us aren't travelling very far, so channeling not required.)
Oh, and seeing as someone got shot in Birmingham city centre on Boxing Day, maybe some channeling to protect us from a similar incident as well?

Oh it's for next time I see him...
In other news, I have been struggling with belly flab/spare tire I have put on since I started back at work. Most other people would not notice but I hide it with baggier clothing and L shirts rather than M size. This has been very confusing for me, as the job is much more physically active than the previous, which was mostly sedentary.
Having more closely monitored my eating/drinking over the last few weeks since the New Year it has become obvious that I am struggling to moderate my food as I usually am able to do. Not varying higher fat items with lower fat, feeling the need to snack most of the day, etc.
I need to sort this out because I'm starting to feel very self-concious again and am worried about piling on the weight again. Long-term Hubbers may know why. So as of Monday, I am cutting out chocolate bars, takeaways, standard crisps and pints for a while and making more effort at meal planning/food shopping. These things will be slowly introduced again once I've got a grip on my habits again and can vary my intake like I can usually do with no problems. Done it before, can do it again. Have no fear, no intention to turn into Beanpole Man or get into a silly long-term 'denial of stuff' type diet, just want to feel a bit healthier.
I'm also trying to get a grip on my spending, which has been out of control lately and the bad insomnia of almost 2 months now. It would seem the bad times of 2009/2010 are finally catching up with me in bizarre, unusual and distressing ways.
But I would appreciate some channeling, please!

But I would appreciate some channeling, please! -Ralph You seem to have a good strategy sorted out for dealing with these things, but channelling shall gladly be provided in support. Karl

It only occured to me yesterday that I think the reasons why food/spending/sleeping have been so out of whack is that I spent about 2 and a half years pretty much constantly either trying to get a job or hold on to a job (and so other parts of life were put on hold or curtailed). Take that pressure away that I had become so accustomed to and I think I've not been sure what to do with myself, just not on a fully concious level. If you spend long enough expecting the worst to happen, it takes a while to re-adjust. Possibly. I don't know. I finally got what I wanted and then went: "urrrrr?"". If that makes sense.
Hopefully things will start to settle down soon and I can just get on with life properly without worrying all the time. This could be a good year for me.

I can't go into details...
I am really low right now. Very low. .
I'd appreciate for those here, if you can who know my mobile number to keep texting me around the clock to make sure I am ok. Aside from that, Channelling would be just Prime.
Battling a lot of demons at the moment and resisting the urge to vent an emo-enduced account of how I am really coping and feeling right now.
I normally keep a lot to myself and suck it up. I feel I have a lot of good pals from here that I've built up over the last 15-16 years and can sometimes address you guys with stuff. Preferably I am more into discussion about giant changing robots.
If anyone feels I am attention-seeking, that''s fair enough. A couple of you guys in the past have told me to get a grip and sometimes tough love is actually welcome. I don't normally approach this thread unless I am serious.
Must survive.
