Went for a wander and read some comics and had some hot chocolate and cake. I was thinking about going to the zoo, but it's still just a shade too chilly got that. Maybe next weekend. Evening spent watching some films* and very slowly polishing off some vodka** left over from last weekend. Tomorrow shall be an epic mission to acquire some running shorts (which are harder to find round these parts than sanity should dictate) as I really need to start properly training for the 5K in late May, considering my general lack of fitness.
Less than two weeks until I go on holiday***! I really do need it! Pretty much running on empty at the moment.

*Including my second and failed attempt to get all the way through 300. It truly is one of the most boring films I have ever seen.**** **Before knocking booze on the head for a few weeks as I take my from-time-to-time traditional break from it. ***Doctor Who Experience tickets turned up ok, which I am stupidly excited about. ****The same director also being responsible for Watchmen, another supremely dull film.

Bought some shorts. Will start off gently with warm-ups in the evenings this week.
Felt very run-down today, but still managed a walk. The canal birds are displaying various degrees of nesting behaviour, which is nice to see. However, the swans are clearly building a volcano. They must know something we don't know.

Just got back from three nights in Liverpool.
As of yesterday, I have a brother-in-law. Huzzah!
I got to read out an abridged version of the Desiderata in the church service.

Splendid.
Something of a quiet weekend. Which was a welcome relief after the last week or so.
Last week of work before two weeks off.

Tell the rest of the world why you bought the shorts you did......
Day started well, felt better than I had done inb a while. Day has worn me down smewhat to the extent it was difficult to climb the stairs just now :-(
Meant to be going away this week but a week in a caravan with no bath is really going to hurt me. So I may be coming back early which gives me a chance to tidy the house ahead of visitors.

Tell the rest of the world why you bought the shorts you did...... The standard shorts in Sainsburys were £4, but mine cost £10. Why? They are light blue. And have a big '4' down one side in a font that resembles a certain font. Not official Marvel product, but close enough for me to pretend I am one of the Fantastic Four. Thus are a fool and his money easily parted. -Ralph

Liz smiled when I told her *which* member of the FF you were. Though to be picky that's not the one that traditionally wears the shorts.

I had originally planned a walk this morning, but after being on my feet most of the last two days I decided to have a quiet day at home instead. Curled up on the couch to do so reading and watch some DVDs (Road To Perdition, another stop this weekend on my slow journey through all comic book movies. Both that and Wanted turned out to be pretty lacklustre in all honesty - it has not been a good weekend cinematically).
I feel quite rested after a combination of a couple of touristy days and a quiet day at home. If the swans are starting to nest down Edinburgh way I must have a check on my local breeding pair - they seem to be reusing the same nest up between Falkirk and Bonnybridge each year, what I can only describe as a very large artificial island that they have built close to shore and tucked in behind a swathe of reeds as camouflage. It is a testament to their industry that what has been built up in much the same way as a land-reclamation project has managed to weather two hard winters in a row and remain in useable condition.

Ugghhh! Have been throwing up all day. And after it started so well. Lovely day and hitting two car boot sales I got one of the best hauls for a long time.
For around £20 got loads of assortted tmnt, mask and g1 transformers. The transformers were amazing. I wandered over to a boot being emptiedand theres already some guys digging through it. All ignoring slag, starscream skywarp ramjet, smokescreen shrapnel, primes trailer and a few other bits. Then someone just threw a jetfire in. Got em all for £2. Then for another £2 picked through all the parts. For the first time I have original wings for the thundercracker I was given 20 years ago.
On the wayn home I began to feel sick. The plan was to go to hornsea for mothers day. With the parents brother aunt uncle cousin her husband. Ahnd daughter. I was looking forward to it so despite feeling bad still went. After a quick walk around I felt reallybad so spent the next 3 hours in the car sleeping and puking. Fun, the journey home was worse. After some more sleep and toilet time im beginning to feel better, but havent had any food stay down for a day. Im hungry.

Good grief Bogatan, you are like some epic car boot magnet! The best I hope for is a broken McDonalds toy!

How does he do it? I don't suppose there was a left 86/7 Cyclonus arm & wing in there?
