Picked up basic supplies and visisted the local city farm. The ducks were docile and the frogs have gone to ground. Now to go for a stroll, read outside in a park and round the holiday off with a pub dinner.

Happy Easter one and all.
Been struggling here, might have done a bit too much over the last week with guests and going out and going away for a few days and Mum coming. Still back to nursery for Jonathan this week which will help.

Shockingly, my first ever Easter in which I had not one single chocolate egg. Oh well.
Had a nice meal then foolishly saw a bad film at the cinema. Ah well, holiday over now. I have that dread of going back to work tomorrow. Not a bad dread, just the feeling we all get when we've had a nice break and could do with just another day or two!

I also spent week 16 on tour - in my case it was a week away visiting family. The gorgeous weather down south made it especially enjoyable. I have visiting Box Hill in Surrey, a National Trust held hillside where there is a man buried upside down at his own request (he was a bit eccentric), done the Doctor Who Experience in London, visited the Tower of London (gory historic events, the ludicrous flim-flammery of monarchial rule on display - a thoroughly good day out) and the travelled back up my train (although for a moment it felt like I was about to travel by wormhole - with all the renevations and the metal panelling everywhere Kings Cross St Pancras Underground Station looks like Stargate Command, and all the glass and steel at the new St Pancras Station makes it look like the Atlantis Cityship).
This weekend has been spent getting things done around the house that were neglected due to going away - namely cleaning. But I did have time for a couple of long walks - one to check on the nesting swans, who seem to be doing alright, and the other the donder from Linlithgow to Polmont to take advantage of the good weather. All told a very good holiday indeed.

The view south from Box Hill is great.
I have a Box Hill story: Myself and a lady friend visited there one day and went for a walk. Taking a rest we spent a while sitting on the grass. Getting up I reached for the fence for support.... ....and discovered it was electrified when I was thrown through the air. Said lady friend showed the ammount of sympathy my friends usually do in these situations and wet herself laughing!
I don't think I've been back since.

Owch. Electric Fences.... not a nice thing to have an arguement with.
The view from Box Hill is indeed rather impressive. We took my sister there on Friday for her first day down for Easter - she had been to Box Hill at Christmas but at the time the visibility was about a metre and a half due to fog so she didn't really get the full effect on that occasion.

I've camped on box hill as a kid when I was in the cubs.
We had our work Christmas do at a hotel at the foot of the hill one year. It swiftly joined the list of "Christmas do locations that B&W's computing dept was not invited back to"
