But what does the cat have against Italy?! You think that's the only thing odd with that listing?? The profile page has even more cat related fun.

I think it's aweome that animals now sell things on ebay. The cows had better not start getting into though, or we're all fucked. They know things.

Wow, didn't realise Raiden was released in Zone! Yeah, only singles though, no giftset. I picked up one of the zone versions MISB at the first Transforce for a whopping £20, a pity they're not that cheap anymore.

Fun fact, at the very end of clearing out my old flat in a corner I found a couple of trainbots in a carrier bag. I have absolutely no recollection of acquiring them.

I really regret missing out on the awesome period of time where all the obscure stuff was cheap and before people got all obsessed about driving up prices

I caught the tail end of it on yahoo Japan 3 years ago. Grand Max, Liokaiser, Star Convoys, Tako Tank and Raiden aqquired just in time. Crystal Convoy bought near retail too. I wish I had been looking 5 years earlier.

Whoa as close a 3 years ago? I wonder if 3 years from now we'll look back at 2010 and say "boy I wish I'd bought all the XXX cheap while they were there!"

Well its all a matter of perspective, 3 years ago I had just started the most well paid job so far. That helped. Liokaiser cost £200-300 boxed ( I bought a second for a similar amount and sold it for $600 so I paid very little for the one I kept) Max I can't remember, but was probably about the same I bought two lots combined the parts with the best bot and sold the other body which covered a bit of the postage. Raiden was more recent and minus a few combiner parts but was only about £150. Reissue Star Convoy last year for £40 shipped Tako was probably about the same. Original Star Convoy in shop display package under £100 shipped. Victory Leo and Star Sabers for about £70 each.
Some have shot up in price since I got them like Liokaiser, others not so much, but the exchange rate is terrible now. 1000 yen was about £5 in 2007 it's now £7.50.
Nick got real bargains a few years earlier.
Even modern stuff is getting a bit silly. Classics and Universe are both steadily climbing in price already. Classics sell loose for £15+ (except Astrotrain) and Universe loose (besides Galvatron) seem to be getting up to original retail now that most shops dont have them any more.

28 pence!!!
Bogatan speaks true of the former glory of Yahoo Japan. I started using a proxy service back when very few people knew about them, round about 2004-5. Back then I got a Diaclone Raiden giftset for Y5000, which at the time was only about 25 quid. It had all the accessories, 2 drivers and track and was only missing a few cardboard buildings and one figure who I acquired later. I think the Trainbots Ralph found in his flat were picked up during that period. Star Saber and Victory Leo were Y10,000 (50 quid before fees) each with their boxes, and I got all three members of Big Powered with all their accessories for 75 quid. I bought decoy giftsets by the pack for anyone who wanted them, Sixknight, Greatshot, Deathsaurus, Grandus... I kept meaning to pick up the Hydra & Buster twin pack in 2006 when it kept showing up at 6000-8000 yen, but I let them pass. Stupidly.
My greatest win was Grand Max- he was missing the big guns and the scout cars but had everything else. Shipped it cost me 150 quid. I got a pair of reproduction guns for 20 quid at AA2006.
Then the movie came out. Then word about proxy services got out. Then the pound plummetted against the yen from £1 : Y233 in 2007 to £1 : Y127 this spring. It's back up to 135 now but even a full recovery to the status quo of 1 : 200 will just mean fighting other westerners over whatever's left. The amazing stuff that used to fill Yahoo Japan is getting harder and harder to find- there used to be three or four Star Sabers up at any one time, now you're lucky to find one. I hate to say it, but I fear that the world may be starting to run out of un-cleared-out attics.

It had to happen at some point. We are now approaching 20+ years on the original line of Transformers toys. With vigorous trading on them online in the last 10 years and attics and the like being cleared, certain toys are now going to just get rarer. And yes, there are fewer bolt-holes online where this stuff could be had cheap. Just one of those things.
In the next 5 years expect to see less and less 'G1' stuff at conventions, especially MOSC/MISB. There were only ever a finite amount of unopened toys, and a lot of people who buy them like to open them.

In fairness, considering all he has, I don't think £1000 is too bad a price for all those. Fort and Brave Max, plus Metalhawk, Black Zarak, Thunderwing and Bludgeon? Probably not far off a grand to sell all those singley.
