Hope you managed to get some in the end.
I am going back to school this morning as I'm taking some of my spider chums into a workmate's daughter's class for them to see (but not handle!). Hopefully nobody will be left traumatised.

Today I have to get signed up formally at International Student Services, get an ID card from another office, get a computer login from ANOTHER office then head off to start work. I'm going to try to open a bank account today too, so I can get Paypal sorted out for my US address.

Yes. His real purpose is to help us get Transformers for up to half-price what they are over here. Screw you, Hasblow UK! The science stuff is merely a sideline.
In other news, I am fucking fed up with being ill! I've had one completely ok day since frigging April! Totally hacked off. And hacking cough too.
I did, however, get a mint copy of the 1986 Summer Special of Sectaurs: Warriors of Symbion through the post. It is as I remember it. MANTLOTAINMENT!

Not the best start to the week. Began it feeling very drained, then got halfway to the station and realised that I had left my wallet at home. Trooped back again, and then down for the later train - end result I got into the office about a half-hour later than planned. Still, I was having a better day than the guy I saw on my walk at lunchtime who had smacked his car into the back of the car in front, trashing his own car and nearly putting the other through the door and into the shop on the corner of the crossroads....

Phil is in a grumpy mood this morning. I'm by myself as Liz is away. Fantastic night's sleep, Jonathan went off like a dream and so did I but it's been rush rush to get him out the door to his special needs group this morning, then I had to tidy up and get everything ready for Grampy to take us to London later. So excuse the short temper today.

Well, my plans for today have somewhat failed to work out. My morning at work was derailed by a complicated computer related job which involved me mucking about on the organisation's main server. Hopefully I haven't inadvertently broken anything important in the process of doing what needed to be done....
After that I was all hands to the pumps to try and get caught up. By four o'clock the last couple of days was catching up with me and I feel extremely drained and flat this evening. I had originally planned to catch the one night only screening of Apocalypse Now at the local Cineworld but I'm a bit too worn out for that. A bit of couch-piloting with a good book and an earlyish night seem to be on the cards.

Hi Sportsfans!!!!!!!!!
All a bit tense 'round here. Still no sign. Belly continues to get bigger, and bigger, AND BIGGER! I fear it may destroy the Universe soon enough.
Peace be with you all!!!!!!!

Got the verification code for my new Paypal account linked to my US bank account. Changed my confirmed address on eBay. It's on, boys. [starting pistol noise]
In the past 3 hours I've been sniped/outbid on six or seven good looking lots. Early days.
WAIT! Triumph! A mixed lot with an original Megatron, Shackwave, Wheeljack, Mirage, Ironhide, Battletrap, Eject and one of the Reflector Boys. Another lot by the same seller has an Omega Supreme, complete Doubledealer, Roadbuster, Spinister and Venom. Time will tell.
EDIT: Won it. Lost a few others. Not a bad first night.

Susie was unimpressed by me lounging on the couch feeling rough. BEHOLD - CANINE JUDGEMENT AAAIIIEEE! I was somewhat surprised to turn the corner into my road this evening, to find a large white rabbit grazing on someone's front lawn. It seemed quite healthy and tame, but hopped out of reach whenever I tried to grab it. I knocked on a few doors. One or two people were aware of the rabbit, assured me that they had checked it didn't belong to anyone in the road, and that it had been hopping around the neighbourhood for a few weeks now. We tried to grab it again but it calmly squeezed between some fence posts and vanished into someone's back garden. It seems to be quite happy eating people's lawns, but I hope someone catches and adopts it just the same. On the other hand, it might be happier and healthier now than it was when it was someone's pet, though it might be hit by a car or eaten by a fox or buzzard. Probably too domesticated to hook up with the wild rabbits on the nature reserve at the other end of the estate. I'll keep an eye out and try to grab it again if I see it again, but I'd have mixed feelings what to do with it if I caught it. Probably won't be as happy being put back in a hutch or handed to the RSPCA. Then again, dunno what it'll do in winter. Oh well! Martin

Just dug out all 13 episodes of Knights of God (1987) starring Michael Sheard. Anyone else remember this serial?
Back online now, but the house is a mess from having to make access to all the gas and electrical mains.
Also, Blaise's first tooth has come through. It's a beauty!

Greetings from Iowa! Today's been the first day since I arrived that's below 30C. In celebration of the let-up in the heat it has pissed down relentlessly for the last three hours. There's been some quite spectacular lightning, which is why I'm typing this in the ISU student union on a borrowed username and password.
Basically, I'm watching a complete, boxed Fort Max in Norway of all places that finishes in 20 minutes. About half an hour ago I had just got back from an orientation meeting when there was an almighty flash and all the lights went out. They came back on a few seconds later but the laptop reported no network access. I asked at the front desk and they reckoned that everything would be back to normal in a couple of hours. Not much help, so I dashed out here. Maybe God's trying to tell me not to bid on it?

Was that you that won Nick? It was God who won, he was bidding against Nick and used His lightning to stop Nick from beating his high bid.
