And this... What does it matter Astrotrain has been done a few times before when none of them really looked like Astrotrain. This is just amazing! The lack of Blitzwing here might suggest they've scrapped that original design for not fitting the current aesthetic. That one and Trailbreaker are really obvious omissions.

He'll be super-off-peak compared to Takara now.

You've got a point there, Pins, Takara have been well off the rails with their pricing recently....

And some crap designs. Bee is the problem. The new Prime is just about okay, although he has awful back kibble compared to the 3P ones. Bee is £90 and just looks terrible unless you're face on from the front. The back is a joke and the feet are approaching Bayverse from the sides. Toyworld did a Bee about five years ago that is *still* better than either of the official ones.
I'm firmly on the Fans Toys train, and I'm not getting off. Now they're pretty much done with the movie figures (Scourge to go and maybe Wreckgar), it looks like they're coming back to focus on the cartoon season 1/2 characters that Takara are ignoring.

Fans Toys are consistently great designs, no doubt. Deffinatly better than several of Takara's recent efforts, such as the new Bumblebee as you say. And with the price hike...
I'm just all over Newage. Brilliant designs at incredible scale, not expensive, and will make Siege Omega look AMAZEBALLS!

I overlooked this at the time because of its silhouette nature, but listening to the podcasts of the week I learn that Fans Hobby are doing Armada Prime, Overload and Jetfire. The Armada Prime combined mode shown here is the same size as Power Baser in combined mode, ie, huge.

Yeah, they said that during the con, too. I ignored it since it's all MP scaled. And Takara has their own Armada Prime due sometime.

True. But it's nice to see the 3P ranges expanding. It's not so easy now to say 3P is all the same thing over and over. Given Power Baser is an absolutely amazing looking figure, this has potential to be something really special. Particularly with the addition of Jetfire and Overload. The only problem with this will be price.
I'm really looking forward to seeing Takara's one properly though. The Supercon Prime looks top.

Nothing but MP scale is still "all the same thing" to me.

MMC's Skylynx, when combined, is easily the size of a cat.

This is the shit that annoys me the most about 3P.
Oh look Hasbro are doing one, let's go one better.
PISS OFF AND DO SOMETHING THAT ISN'T BEING RELEASED.
HOW ABOUT SOME ACTUAL PRETENDERS YOU LAZY FANNIES?!!

HOW ABOUT SOME ACTUAL PRETENDERS YOU LAZY FANNIES?!! Given how long these things take to get done, I'm wondering more if it was a "let's do Cybertron prime as Hasbro will never do that!" and then "Ohhhhh goddddd"

Granted it's close, but we haven't known about Hasbro's for long at all, and that one's just another G1 optimus in cosplay rather than a proper Cybertron Optimus, while these renders show a lot of design work to have done in a couple months.
I'm willing to give them benefit of doubt on this one, that Hasbro beat them to the punch. There's been a 3P movement to do MP cybertron for a while, with a Starscream (i think two?), and another Cybertron Optimus and a scattorshot that's been trying to get off the ground for a couple years.
This being MP scaled makes me more upset than the fact it exists. I think I'd rather have a proper Cybertron Optimus update, over Hasbro's weird one.

Especially as this is Transform and Rollout. It took them years to get that Jazz out so this has probably been in development since the 1870s.

My usual fence sitting means I've missed the initial batch of Road King shipments, but after an initial goink! at the size, I think I like this idea. I'm seeing my MP collection now as being a cartoon season 1/2 thing (with a separate mini collection for the movie characters), and in that context the special teams were the ultimate evolution. They deserve to be big because they combine to be big. I dig this. It's like Megatron saying, okay Prime, you've got the Dinobots so here's my muscle crew. I'm in for the FT teams. God knows how I pay for them, but soon as Road King becomes available again I'm on it. If anything, teams of figures made by FT look fantastic. Nothing else comes close in terms of premium figures for Transformers. The Dinobots looks great, and the Insecticons as a trio are superb.

I am going to. I'm up for Fans Toys special teams because that's the best toy makers making the best figure teams going. Pinnacle of MP collecting. I think I'd like a display of them as teams rather than the combined form. No idea how to pay for it, but I'm doing it. Fans Toys are going to complete my MP collection in the manner I want the figures, can't see Takara doing that.

Flippin'heck Pinwig is so HARD CORE!
I will look forward to following your descent into madness as you collect them all.
Their figures are quite outstanding, it has to be said. They only seem to go from strength to strength. I'd need two sets though. One to display as individuals, and another to keep combined.
