Hey gang. Hope you all had a great Christmas Day.
Still going through lots of presents here (Blaise's) and really having a blast doing the holiday season as a dad. It certainly adds a fun new perspective on things.
Looking forward to 2012 and starting afresh. Ave a Good un, whatever you are doing this Holiday season.

Strange work day today. Office is closed so on call and out doing appts. Cancelled mid-morning so back at home for a bit before heading back out for some pre-arranged work related stuff. Fingers crossed the phone does not ping regarding an emergency. This is the exactly the time when things tend to Go Bad for people I support so I am not entirely relaxed I must admit.

Quiet Christmas visiting my parents this year, as my sister (married earlier this year) and brother-in-law came down for an early Christmas do earlier in the month. All very nice though, with church in the morning followed by exchange of gifts (got new shoes, Raymond Chandler audio play CDs and money) and massive lunch of turkey with all the trimmings, and most importantly roast potatoes upon roast potatoes, with more roast potatoes lined up for today. Watched some Charles Dickens TV adaptations. Skipped 'Doctor Who' this year, but will try to catch 'The Borrowers' at some point (probably on iPlayer). Had a nice meal out at an Indian restaurant on Christmas Eve. Will be heading back to Cardiff tomorrow.
I know where Andy's coming from, as I had a lovely weekend in Torquay earlier in the month entertaining my three-year-old god-daughter and her sister, with whom I am immensely popular. Will try to see them at least twice a year in order to keep the bond with them strong as they grow up.
Oh, also received my licence earlier this week that allows me to disturb dormice for scientific purposes unsupervised anywhere in Wales, which is nice. But the mild winter is bad for hibernating animals such as dormice, hedgehogs and bats, unfortunately. Have to see in the spring how they got on.

Hello Sportsfans!!!
Hope everyone is having a great time of it.
Christmas Eve night shift was TERRIBLE for various reasons, but I survived it, and we're having a fab time here. Wriggler's first Christmas! I'm off now 'till the 30th, when I start a run of 4 shifts that will see me at work 'till 0100am on New Years Eve, so that'll be fun too! 2 full nights after that, n'all! Still, getting paid for it!
Hope you are all well, my dear Cyber chumbs!!!!!

I GodMod more from an overseer point of view.
Quiet work day. 4 more to go before a badly, badly needed break.
Toy-Fu briefly appeared and added to the growing SW LEGO mountain. I have so much of it now. I give up Transformers and just replace it with another plastic addiction...

Back to work tomorrow, to meet all the people who bought toys that didn't work/weren't in the box/blew up on exposure to the atmosphere/didn't inflate properly/have some weird electrical fault/have a bit missing/they didn't know how to turn on. It's gonna be a fun week.

My last day of non-workness tmw, before the slog over New Year's Eve. 1 day shift, 1 late over said Eve, and then two nights. Yuk. Hopefully I'll have some drunk little boys and girls to laugh at! 'Tis been a fab Christmas time, though, and the new year ahead looks great indeed.

Traded shifts to get Saturday off so I can join the New Year festivities in Falkirk earlier than usual. Meant I had to work till 10 last night. Got out just as the Old Firm match was finishing up. Buses were scarce so I got the underground with a couple of workmates and we nearly got blown to Narnia on the way there. City Centre was heaving with drunk, jeering Celtic fans. Guys upstairs on the bus home seemed to be having a stomping contest. Bloke two rows behind me seemed really disappointed we didn't look happy enough and vocalised this every two minutes, much to the embarassment of his daughter sitting next to him who kept asking him to be quiet.
Could barely raise my head this morning. At least I'm only in 6 hours today, although that does mean no lunch.

He will.
This is Burns on the desktop. He is trying to figure out how to work the Ipad. It has vexed him. Yes I know it's easy and all but computers do stress him out until he figures it out. He can report that is a very durable machine after he punched it in frustration.
He has lost ability to talk in the first person.

No one will tell me if I am working beyond tomorrow. It's pissing me off now. I really dont know if they want me gone (as a senior manager signed me off last week) or if I'm going to be asked or expected to stay for weeks more as some people are leaving and someone else will be taking maternity leave for two weeks. My manager has had 6 weeks to get next weeks rota done, how hard can it be.
I need to plan for the new year so this has been really annoying.

Last shift of the year coming up. It looks like it will be a heavy non-break one.
Though at least I figured out full Ipad operation. The trick is not to think too hard about how to do things.
I can also confirm it is a money drainer. It's just so easy to buy crap on it. I must never go near it after drinking.
But the X-MEN 1992 arcade game is only 69p!

I hate this time of the year. I always get ill. I managed to avoid having the flu on Christmas day for the first time in years as I had it a week before, but low and behold it is back with a vengeance.
