and by the end of the week my living room will have laminate floor. I only agreed to it to shut up the constant nagging about it but am regretting it now.

This week begins with my eyes feeling like they're on fire.
What's up with the laminate flooring, then?

Mrs A's latest change the house round idea. The theory is it will be easier to clean when me and Jonathan drop stuff on it. In practice it will hurt more when I fall on it and I will fall on it more because it's slippery. Oh and for those who know the DFiS' front room the stone shelves along the fire place wall are going, with the tv moving to the door wall. Except she hadn't considered the cabling implications which I reckon ammount to 20m of coax.
If you're scottish, worry not about the laminate floor and sleeping on it: I have memory foam matresses.
Yes I have agreed to these changes just to shut her up. No I'm not happy about them.

Looks like my sister is buying the tickets for the RAF Cosford airshow as (slightly) early birthday present for me. Unexpected but welcome, I'd have been hard-pressed to think of anything better that she could have got me.
First day of a short week - working four days this week and four next. Hurrah!

I seem to be having a spring-cleaning week at the moment. Not content with clearing out my desk a bit during a spare moment at work today I came home and have sorted out a cupboard in my kitchen which had become a tangle of undifferentiated mess. It is straightened out and with half of the contents thrown out. I think that this is going to be the pattern for the next few days, there are too many corners and cubbyholes in this house where things have been accumulating. Time to get some of it sorted out properly.

Compromise my good man. I'm sure Liz has made some for you too Blaise has laminate flooring in her room, but its not working out in the long run. We will revert back to carpet funds permitting. ===KEN

I may have overdone it slightly today.....
Post Office this am
I then packed the hi fi up pre front room nonsense. At which point I looked at the TV, BD & Freeview box and thought "That ain't going to be too hard to move over there" and repositioned them behind the door with the sofa crossing the other way.
It was at this point I discovered that the plug on the main aerial lead coming into the house was rusted onto the wire (shouldn't have been a surprise: the booster it was connected to had to be replaced last year due to rust) and had to replcae it which promptly gave us back all the MuxC freeview channels we were missing.

Blood Donation #11 this evening. As always, no excuse for not doing it, folks (unless there is a medical reason not to). All you have to do is lie down for 10 minutes and get free tea and biscuits. No hardship.

That's you sorted, what's Blaise going to get though?!? Did not get anything. TRU had no Bot Shots or Power Ranger Samurai Megabloks. Was attracted to some scout-class sized Star Wars Transformers, but left them for now. I never knew about these and I think they look much better than previous Deluxe-sized releases. Blaise however had her haul of Duplo bricks, some chocolate and a Disney Princess roleplay dress (Sleeping Beauty). She loved her visit! On a different note, the beard - the Santa Claus-esque beard I grew is now gone and for the first time in a decade I am clean-shaven and it feels weird.

One day left of work this week.... The weekend cannot come quickly enough I feel. It has been a high pressure couple of months and I am looking forward to a couple of days away from the homestead.

My working week is at an end, and a four day weekend begins. This thought cheers me greatly. Also, my house is starting to look more organised than it has done in a while. The IlClearout is starting to show effects I think.
