Perhaps you should just let Comixology have unlimited contact with your bank account now!

Aggh! Been waiting for this one and it's come right at a point when there's a cash shortage. Compared to the recent 69p collections it doesn't look great value. Still Masterworks for £3.99 isn't bad. No John Byrne FF Visionaries! Now these are the issues I *really* want digitally and they're not in book form so that's 69p an issue for about 70 issues! They're also missing the later FF Epic Collections! Will probably sit this one out till next time round. 1) No comic by Daniel Way can be considered essential! No Kitty Pryde/Wolverine, nothing with Spider-Man/Wolverine in, no Uncanny issues. No Epic Collections! Origin might look tempting for £2.49 but there's a good chance it'll be on sale for 69p later this week as part of the new Wolverine Epic.

Passed on New Mutants, I have everything in there elsewhere.
The Ms Marvel I have most of but I won't get the one issue I'm missing any cheaper!
Project Pegasus is out in TPB this week, but has been on Comixology before in HC so that's not featured. Annihilation is also collected elsewhere on Comixology so that doesn't seem to be either, Nor The Mighty Thor: The Asgard/Shiar War

Epic Collections being 69p the week they come out on digital but £20-35 in physical format does cheapen the latter somewhat. Marvel are really devaluing the physical versions with such a vast gap in prices. Taking the piss out of customers buying the physical versions, frankly. I don't approve. Sales are cool but not on day of release!

But I'm in no way looking a gift horse in the mouth and continuing to load up on them. 69p for a 20 issue Epic Collection is 3.5p an issue! Now if only it can keep going another 2 weeks so I can get Avengers Masterworks 18 for pennys when that comes out! While we're at it, here's the trades due next week:

It’s surely an experiment to see what it does to their physical and digital sales and their unlimited subscriptions. I’ve certainly bought a bunch of things I’d not have ever purchased.
Either that or they’re aggressively trying to push all other companies out of business by undercutting them.
Or they’re going to take everything off comiXology and we’ll all be left with nothing!
Thanks Phil for all the links!

Oh sure by all means 69p for digital copy of a brand new trade? I can see the appeal but it will annihilate Marvel's physical trade program if this goes on for much longer. I can see folk not that much into digital just going "well for 69p..."
I imagine this current madness may be annoying brick and mortar stores!

Yeah - this 69pence for a new trade is crazy pricing. I can only assume that they are hoping for the sort of effect of the "First taste is always free" principle of the drug trade - get people hooked with cheap shiny stuff and then hope that they will buy in all the way. In practice I'm not sure how well it will work. I've certainly bought stuff I wouldn't normally buy - X-Men Gold and X-Men Blue for example - but I doubt that I'll be picking them up at the regular digital prices, let alone the hardcopy ones.
If I was a brick-and-mortar comics store owner I know I'd be watching this tactic with a very jaundiced eye - comics shop economics are precarious as hell at the best of times. Anything like this is very much less than the best of times.
That said, I am absolutely shamelessly going to pick up the Demon Bear trade at that price. It is good stuff and I don't have it - and 69p is about what one issue of it would have gone for back in the day.

Oh sure by all means 69p for digital copy of a brand new trade? I can see the appeal but it will annihilate Marvel's physical trade program if this goes on for much longer. I can't see the sale lasting that much longer surely? One of the worries I had when I started buying Epic Collections was "would physical trades still be being published for long enough to complete them?" Thor is 10 out of 23 so far, so at 2 per year that's another 7 years. Spider-Man 10 out of I don't know how many (at least 22 so far), ditto Avengers, ditto Cap. But FF is 7 out of 25, Iron Man 7 out of ??, Daredevil 8 out of 21, Hulk 6 out of at least 23, X-Men 6 out of ![???](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/huh.png) (19 already) and Wolverine 4 out of a probable 15. They worry me. (all max volume numbers calculated to the end of their title's first volume: already released for Thor, Cap, FF & Daredevil)
