Great idea - i've done the same and ordered the Smash issues at the same time so they were half price too.

I find hardbacks are usually excluded from those discounts so I'd not even thought to check, but that's a good idea.
I see the collected hardback of the Battle Action mini has the stories from the freebie digital zero issue too. Very tempting.

Webshop exclusive covers are usually excluded from vouchers but not standard ones.

Not always. The Sarge is one recent example. Both hardbacks are excluded.

Smash #1 is here. Hmmm. Same price as Battle Action but smaller (US comic size) and the second story is an old reprint. Hmmm. The value proposition does not seem the same.

Ooh. I have not yet purchased this. Maybe not bother. I don't think I got the first Smash special to be honest, although there was a digital version in that Humble Bundle.

I'll have to read the last one before committing. Mind you, using the half price voucher idea these three would only come to £6.50.

The Treasury 2024 Annual arrived today. Big and chunky like in ye olden times. Looks lovely. I am putting it to one side until the Chrimbo season.

10! Amazing! Almost monthly Battle Action next year. Very much looking forward to that. Even if there's more Action in it. Tell you what, a monthly Johnny Red episode from Ennis and Keith Burns? I am there. Burns' war art has been a highlight of British comics for me.

I notice the price of the Scream archive edition has dropped on Amazon from £72 to £41.40. They seem to think the RRP is now £45. That seems to be a pretty good price for a 464 page collection. I wonder if it actually is £45? I'm guessing a 50% voucher wouldn't work on this when it eventually reaches the tooth shop.

Not convinced I need this one because I've got a full run of Starlord comics. Hmm. I'm trying not to keep duplicates these days for space reasons.

Ah, but remember that Hibernia number these in their Fleetway Files collection. This is number 5. The numbers are on the spine. If you miss it, your spines will not all match up...

They don't anyway because I didn't get the first few. I didn't even know about them until Captain Condor.

Ah ha! So it is ok to miss the first few, but then to get (for example) 3 and 4 but not 5 and then get 6....it will drive you up the wall!!! Think how it looks on the shelf. Non-consecutive numbers...

Nice try, but no. If I had all of them so far this would be an insta-purchase, but I'm happy just buying the ones that look interesting because I'll never get the first three.

It annoys me that Epics don't have spine numbers.

While I am at it, the biggest mistake Star Trek novels made was dropping the number system.
The new Doctor Who Targets should have spine numbers too!!!!

While I am at it, the biggest mistake Star Trek novels made was dropping the number system. Bugged me the US and UK systems were different. The new Doctor Who Targets should have spine numbers too!!!! -Ralph The original Target numbering system was poo. Alphabetical up to the point the numbers were introduced and then in release order. Should have made them story order or, failing that, all in release order.

My memory of Target Books is tied to the numbers. They are linked in my mind!

Yes, it couldn't have been that hard even back then to get the numbering in publication order when they applied it. It makes displaying those books in number order pointless. They're better in story order anyway.
