I dont think its a bad idea as such, but yeah it probably is aimed at kids more. Half the problem with the comic might be that kids havent seen the cartoon because its on an expensive channel. If that is the case it would have made more sense to start with the pilot.

I've lost the link to his blog, but the chap who made the 'versus' game in #3 had mentioned lay-offs at Titan. It may be that the company have decided that extending their lines of titles at this time is not the best idea. Though they just rebooted their Star Wars comic for the 6th time so I may be talking bollocks. Who knows.
I suggest we all get our 'awesome missile blaster' from #1 and have a memorial ten-gun salute for the shortest lived of the various UK Transformers comics.

How long did the 1991 X-men Marvel UK comic last? Marvel Action Hour UK only lasted 4 issues. You mean 1992/3 X-Men comic surely Pete. Andy The one advertised in the last few issues of the original UK TF comic back in 91 - not the Oct 94 series that lasted 34 issues.

The Star Wars comic is still going to sell for them though cos it's Star Wars.

It does look like their Indiana Jones comic has quietly shuffled off too. Not seen an issue on stands for a few months.

They were advertising the Marvel US X-Men comic, as at the time X-Men and X-Force got decent newsagent distribution. There was no Marvel UK X-Men title at that time. Andy

I imagine the investment required to create 'cinemanga' books will be much lower in comparison to original stories and, as a result the sales required to make a profit can be lower. You don't need expensive writers or artists, just a few staff to create decent quality screen captures, create a few speech bubbles and lay them out into a page format*.
I wonder if Simon Furman will comment on the long-term plans for the Afterburn character? I always suspected that he would be revealed as an undercover Decepticon.
* Slight simplification, but you get the idea.

Really? I don't know, big film, big marketing push, big games on popular consoles, lego sets...

Well, I imagine at the TIME, it seemed like a good idea, since all of that was happening. And then, all of those things quickly but quietly fizzled out without attracting any interest from children at all - because really, how likely WAS it that children wanted a Sallah action figure? I mean, they didn't even release Crystal Skull action figures until a wave or two into the toyline, so they didn't even have a *chance* of hooking kids with toys of characters from the film that was actually OUT. They tried to treat it like Star Wars, and... Indy's not Star Wars.

They've still got the Indy comic on their website... though they haven't updated that site in MONTHS so who knows.
At least Shaun The Sheep's still alive!

I'm surprised TMNT: Fast Forward lasted a year.
Such a shame about TFA ending but more of a shame about it being sudden too.

I have no doubt that any unpublished Animated material will turn up in the movie comic at some point but I can't see when. Maybe when the current back-up strips have finished they will reprint Animated. Maybe from issue 27 we will see an Animated strip and possibly one of the new IDW movie prequels as the back-up strips.

I'm sure we'll see that pencil pod (maybe not that exact one) soon I wonder if Simon Furman will comment on the long-term plans for the Afterburn character? I always suspected that he would be revealed as an undercover Decepticon. Funny. i had a feeling about that too. Glad it wasnt just me
