Hot Rod might be the best Hot Rod since Hot Rodimus.

No spoiler though. That's a big omission for me.

Damn - couldn't tell from looking at those pictures on my phone yesterday that Whirl was going to be a one-step changer, but you're probably right. Still, given that in Cyberverse characters come out in multiple classes I'll keep hoping that we'll also get a warrior or something, too.
Still, a pleasant surprise, to be sure. And Repugnus! Someone at Hasbro clearly loves the guy...

ANOTHER SHOCKWAVE!!!
This now means there are SIX in Cyberverse. I have the four already out (number 5 is the recently announced Deluxe). I'm in too deep. Can't stop now.

Shockingly not actually fussed about these reveals - although I might still pick up that Clobber if I find one cheap. They do look like they'll be fun for kids, though.

That Optimus really looks like he has an old man's cane.

Ultra Class Clobber looks like she's worth getting. As big as she is compared to everyone else, and it looks to be a decent figure compared to most other ultras.

Aaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back to being fussed again.
It's just absolutely crazy that we're finally getting a toy of an obscure, comics-only character in what's meant to be the main kids line - isn't that what the "Generations" line was meant to be for? Still, I'm not complaining at all - at least we have a toy of him after all this time.
Now I'm just waiting for Big Red to appear in Rescue Bots...

My head exploded when he turned up in the cartoon. Still, there's hope. We all got excited when Shockwave was announced for Cyberverse and then he came to Generations too.

Does TCV-40 tell us anything about the class this is?

I think I read somewhere (TFW2005) that he/they are a Cyberverse Ultra which is pretty much a Generations Voyager.

Does Matt mean in terms of height?
Much as this is an amazing thing I can't get excited about it because it won't look right with generations toys. We've already pointed out that there is an obvious Rack N Ruin to be made from remoulding the... The whatever the Powerdashers are, not battle masters, armour kings, them things. What was the name for those? Oh Weaponisers.

Yep, okay. He is the only Wrecker I don't have a figure for in my Wreckers collection. You may be right.

So R'n'R's one of those power-up figures, and not one of the super-poseable, Build-A-Maccadam figures that've gotten everyone excited (and by "everyone" I do of course mean "me"). Which is an interesting strategy from Hasbro, there. And it's one I've just realised they've been using to great effect in this line.
Whilst kids are all over these "action effect" type toys (or at least I assume they are, given that Hasbro keeps making them) it's not an area that older collectors would necessarily spend their money on, and so Hasbro have solved this problem by giving characters that are more likely to get interest from our demographic a first release in those not-normally-desirable ranges. We've recently seen that with Alpha Trion, might have seen that with Slipstream (although I can't remember which Warrior wave she was released in) and now we're getting it with Lugnot and Rack'N'Ruin. Obviously I don't know whether that's intentional or just a coincidence, but whatever the case, it's certainly interesting.
Although, let's be honest - I know I'm not alone in loving the silly action features of Cyberverse. I'd have gotten them anyway.

The power-up gimmick looks cool as long as they are integrated into the figure when not deployed and not like a backpack you need to clip on. That sort of stuff would have excited me as a kid, I loved hidden flip out armour stuff

Also, we've only just seen our first BaF. That doesn't mean RnR won't be showing up in a future wave.

Oh I don't doubt it. But I'll have to buy this first version of RnR anyway, just in case. Clever, Hasbro, very clever...
