It's clear the idea here is robot plus attack mode utilising the idea of transformation to achieve it. I can see what they're aiming at, it's not that they're half transformed, they're using a transforming ability to weaponise instead of having a sprung punch attack or holding a 5mm gun. It's just the end result isn't very good. Pinwig has hit the nail on the head as to the intent. There is room for different types of TF toys. No one has been losing their minds over the non-transforming blond bags we've had for years. Robot Heroes before them appeared to be universally loved. Dozens of fully transforming toys come out every month anyway. Not like there's a shortage. As for Cyberverse Scouts, the kids will decide if they want them or not. We'll see if they continue to year 2 of the line! -Ralph

I dunno, man. As a kid, I got Action Masters. Robots are fun on their own, and these were guys I knew, so yay! And obviously I like Transformers that transformed, gimmicks and all.
Would I, as a child, have liked toys that effectively stopped halfway?
As part of a gladiatorial theme, maybe. Like the Robot Derby in Cash and Carnage, y'know? If that was the thing, the gimmick, I'd have been well down for it. But there isn't anything to explain why they're like this, and so to me, they'd be just... strange.
I mean, I'm making up a rationale for them now, so my imagination might have worked with them. But I just don't know.

I would like to go on record here and say I will support the cause by not confiscating any Cyberverse toys being fiddled with under desks in my classroom. Unlike bloody fidget spinners, which thankfully, like bottle flipping and flossing, the world seems to have moved on from.

But there isn't anything to explain why they're like this, and so to me, they'd be just... strange. I think that's the problem. If these had been badged as Robot action figures with exciting attack modes, we'd all have known where we stood. Because this is the only class in the range that doesn't form a second distinct mode, it all feels a bit odd.

I still have a fidget spinner. I find it helpful when I'm getting stressed.

No, bottle flipping is one annoying pasttime, Flossing is another. It's a dance kids antagonize each other about if they can't do it as it requires a bit of coordination. Rife before the summer. Oh, and dabbing also seems to have gone.

Dabbing did not annoy me as much as the manniquin challenge craze that annihilated The Internet for a while. Fair got on my tits. Old Man Burns says get off my lawn!

Posting videos on the internet where the camera moves around a bunch of static people, as in looking like a shop window dummy.

They can be quite elaborate, but for the most part, yes. Dull. As is any craze after five minutes really.

I actually kinda really like that warrior Prowl. He's really cute. I might get him.
And he's a perfect example of how transformers can be simple, without being cheaty and replicating all the vehicle kibble with faux parts.

Do we get in early and make the joke about Shockprowl popping up as stiffly as those shoulder missiles when he sees this before he gets here and does it himself?

I finally saw a Warrior Class Shockwave in the plastic last weekend. I still think it is a fun looking toy, but I looked at it, looked at the price point, looked back at the toy, and realised that whilst I like that the toy exists, I am not actually bothered about owning it.
I left it there for someone who would appreciate it more to find.

I am amused by the Optimus who has the action feature of an ENORMOUS AUTOBOT LOGO slamming into his truck cab front! Other robots in the line have guns, axes or stabby things to wave at you for attack! Optimus has...a logo! Fear him!

TREMBLE BEFORE MY MIGHTY SELF-IDENTIFICATION!
But aye, Hot Rod's a mess, isn't he? But hey, this is the kiddy line! And that Prowl looks nice, even if he is a re-tooling of the Cyber Battalion figure (or so it looks) - but that's no big problem, because that's a great mold. Ratchet looks nice also.
Best of all though is Soundwave, with his surprise Laserboob attack! I'm more excited about him than I am about the Siege one. Because I'm a child.

It's no retool because Warriors are a bit smaller than deluxe, and the cyber battalion are on par with voyagers.
