It's time for someone who isn't Phil to suggest a crazy theory... and then have Phil point out that he already mentioned it several pages back, it's just been lying dormant in our minds, Inception like. *blows horn*
But anyway, my theory is this: Impactor was originally designed to be part of Power of the Primes. Ignoring timings and the like, it's just that something about his robot mode that doesn't look Siege-ish. Sure, they've ended up plastering his body with loads of little details and paint jobs to make him fit in, and added loads of C.O.M.B.A.T. C.O.L.I.N. ports, but the way his hands work and with those visibly hollow legs it looks like he was designed for the previous line. Or at least, was designed at the tail end or something, before they'd decided on an aesthetic for Siege.
This of course changes absolutely nothing about the figure - it will still be released as part of Siege and I will still buy it 'cos I really like it. It was just something that I observed, is all.

They're talking about Impactor, not Jetfire!
Mr Pins mentions Spartan, a 3P Impactor in his post, the first immediately post Jetfire at Amazon.
The flow of the conversation wasn't clear though so I've added a quote for context.
I regret not giving Jetfire his own thread at the time, may look at how feasible that it

2nd Blowpipe obtained. But..... Blowpipe, Aimless and Caliburst are all recolours and slight remoulds of each other. As such I can swap the ball jointed limbs between them. Do I need even more to create all grey and all blue Targetmasters? And odd colour combos when Caliburst is out? **** the **** off! -merlin Do it!! Phil now has Battlemasters Greyscale and Blueshift

Phil has Ironhide and Prowl this week. Ironhide- He's the real star of this wave. He calls to mind Energon Inferno pretty hard, with a very similar transformation that has a clever twist. He is what we've hoped for, for years. Unfortunately, his leg panels nearly ruin him. They're held on entirely by friction, and not particularly tight clip ons, at that. It's impossible to transform him without them falling off. I know the leg panel issue has been widely reported, I seem to have got lucky and got a good one. Touch Wood, they've not fallen off once yet! His weapon is kinda stupidly designed, too. It's impossible for him to use it as a gun without looking extremely awkward, the handle is so far forward. But he's still the best of the lot. More a cannon/bazooka than a gun? So the handle needs to be forward, with the length of the weapon running down his arm. Plus the handle is in the right place for pegging into his shoulder peg holes.

If they had moved the handle back just slightly, it would have been exactly the same effect, except he could actually hold it naturally, and actually aim it straight.

Yup. I've given my Siege Ironhide that extra little grey gun that came with Siege Soundwave (sorry, Doc', but it's ok 'cos it's not Soundwave's actual weapon, it's like an extra weapon). Looks alright. And he keeps his bazooka thing to use as a, well, bazooka.

Chromia....
Not a remould of Moonracer etc. Majority of the toys is brand new.
The Majority..... There is however two frames of parts reused between the two toys: Chromia's wheels are the same as Moonracer's, black on both toys. There's also a frame - white on Moonracer, pale blue on Chromia and orange on Novastar - of slightly softer plastic shared between them used on the upper legs, hips and hands

But aye, she's about as much a remold as Chromedome is of Blurr. Less so, actually. And Chromia almost fixes most of the moonracer problems. If they had just moved the SFX pegs off the kneecaps and onto the shins, she would have actually had ground clearance. Cybertron mode Sideburn retool now, please. (Accompanied by Counterpunch for Prowl and Hound for X-Brawn)
