LONGTOOTH IS COMING TO EAT YOUR FACE.Edit: No, it's not 'eat' your face, is it? It's it's it's 'Rip' off your face or, I dunno, 'Violently Remove' your face... or something...

Well, I have to say an aeroplane with an airport and a monster truck with a petrol station makes a lot more sense than a jet bomber with a fire station and a long-distance lorry with no trailer on a construction site. I love Greasepit's tech-specs blurb - clearly following on from Ratbat's fuel-thievery scheme begun in 'The Carwash of Doom'! Got to be Greasepit this time. He has so much going on. Martin

Airwave with airport.
Greaspit is the same layout as Ironworks in tower mode - I have money that says Earthrise Greasepit will be an Ironorks repaint - and the same layout as both Ironworks & Hothouse in base mode.
Airwave's airport has the variable geometry road..... I suppose in his case we'd better call them runways, and thus is something different and far more useful.

Yeah, but Greasepit's station is a lovely friendly little shop with signs and petrol pumps just like we all had as toddlers, and then it transforms into a battle station bristling with a gazillion different ways to kill you - plus a lookout tower. Such a marvellous contrast!
Airwave's station turns from a runway into a box.

..... with a paid of HUGE MISSILES on top.
As a base builder, it's the airport I want multiples of. The ability to choose which directionyour ramps point in is so useful.
PLUS, as TFWiki reminds me, with the roads both pointing forwards you can still attach ramps to the sides.

Tricky this. It should be Greasepit on account of the tower mode being interesting, but it isn't anywhere near as neatly executed as Ironworks' one. Airwave's airport looks like a proper tiny airport, and the other mode might well be a box, but it's a box Airwave can spring up from like a jack in the box before he slams you in the face with his huge orange missiles.

And Greasepit is a million times better than the bland Ironworks.

Greasepit could only be improved by signage marking him as a G.B. Blackrock outlet with a 'Wash and Roll' out back.

Although I really like the idea of Greasepit, and he's not that bad either, it's always going to be the plane-based things for me. And who can resist the world's shortest runway, anyway? You can tell this is a Decepticon base - they're clearly just catching and salvaging the corpses of all the fools who attempt a take-off from there...

One way in which the Micromaster battle stations were ahead of their time is that in their peaceful modes they link up into a raised city with everything one level above the ground, and thereby resistant to flash flooding or sea level rise.

Nobody has questioned yet:
If the Micromasters are smaller robots/vehicles, then are these petrol stations, airports etc mini too and way to small for humans to use?

So they go from massive harmless airports etc to tiny defense weapon stations? Unless the robots are not to scale with the battle stations. We know Flattop isn't to scale with his aircraft carrier... and Hothouse the plane isn't to scale with his fire station. Martin

If you had the Brave recolour of Mudslinger(?) Ironworks you could make a circuit of different coloured bases.

IIRC the gang moulding on these minorly affects the Brave version of one of the others too..... Greasepit's cannon? Yup, they also have different stickers.

If Airwave had kept the prototypes wheels so that it had a mobile mode it would definitely be my pick as it is its a bit of a toss up. Both city mode are bette than the Autobot versions (though not much in it between Ironworks and Greasepit)but neither pull off battle base mode as well.
Greasepits Garage is lovely so as a one off probably wins, but Phils right. Airwave as an army builder offers a lot more potential.
I'm getting the urge to customise some of these to make new city blocks. Airwave could be turned in to a series of out of town shopping units. A Toys R Us one would be nice. Greasepit could be turned in to a drive thru.
