I serve my own curries!
No, I meant, plain, vegetable, mushroom, special. There are loads of different rices. Just like there are loads of naans. Also, sometimes people eat currys with naan and don't have rice.

Some of the crazy kids these day eat curry with chips instead of rice.
Or ask for a hybrid option known as "half and half".
Mind you, I've only seen this happen in pubs, canteens and chippies, not in an Indian restaurant.

Here is Philip's rather nice lunch today, from the Biplob. Note the not one but two Currys on the plate, kept separate to preserve their distinctiveness and not all mixed together into one lump.

Tonight I go for Curry with the men from the church. A choice of four curries on our table. I will put a small amount each on my plate in separate piles. Because I am not a heathen I will not mix them all together.
FOUR curries. Separate and different tastes in the mouth! NOT ONE MASHED UP MESS!

I am with Ralph on this one. If a side dish curry joins the main curry on my plate, it must be separated by empty space or a rice wall. Mixing curries seems silly. If they were supposed to be eaten like that they'd be mixed up in the first place.

If you don't mix curry with rice, you don't mix curry with curry either! What kind of insane illogical rules do you people live by?!

Time for a ruby I think!

Or does Ruby mean something different in Wegie that I was not previously aware of?

Ruby? WEGIE? What the heck are you taking about, man?!

Post by Pinwig on Oct 22, 2018 15:59:43 GMT
Ruby Murray = Cockney Rhyming slang for curry. Weegie = Glaswegian, in this case Glaswegian slang.
This refers to the recent incident in which Phil's reference to a whistle (whistle and flute = suit) was misread by some as him talking about his penis.
