Waiting in this morning for my Important Documents to come back for a disclosure check for volunteering thing which I need to sign for to get back. Was desperate to visit the throne but walked back and forth and pondered calm thoughts to put it off. The post usually comes between 9:30-10. No sign by 10:15 and I could wait no longer so went to Rule In Power. No sooner had I done this but the bloody door went with the postman/woman knocking!!!!

Storm Ali hit Edinburger. Very severe winds. I was knocked off my feet several times. Area around office closed due to weather risk. Falling lead from roofs a few metres away, etc. I have to move about the city on foot for work. Where we given any guidance for our health and safety? Silence...silence...

I will say no more but things like this make me glad the beginnings of a 6-9 plan have swirled in my brain during my sick leave. Not entirely sure how to do it but I know (roughly) where I want to be by then for the sake of my physical and mental health.

Although I've known too many organisations with a rather loose definition of Duty of Care to be entirely surprised. Fun with the breeze down here as well. My new building has rather nice looking metal baffles on the outside, like cooling vanes, which shroud the vents that let air into the building. In a strong wind it turns out they make a rather fascinating creaking noise as they are blown back and forth slightly on their mountings. Sadly it isn't a proper rusty "Eeeccckkk,eeeeccckkk" sound like the railroad sign at the start of "Once Upon a Time in The Wild West". That would have been wonderful. Karl |

I'm disappointed to have caught up with today's threads and not come across a reason why Blue has lost his lue.
This is deeply worrying. Blueshift became Blue became b. Is he vanishing? Diminishing and traveling into the West? Or is he about to rise, phoenix-like, as The Artist Formerly Known as Blueshift?

I am in a cold hotel room (the heater does not work and the control panel is dead) and the door does not lock. Couldn't find anyone at Reception.
If I don't make it through the night one of you can have my super awesome £5 (!) copy of Micromasters #1.

I got under both duvets, which helped. I was kept awake/entertained through the night by the feral gangs screaming in the car park. Their cries reached the 11th floor.
Breakfast is cold and horrible but I cannot complain as it appears to be run by a 12-year old boy. I can't shout at a kid!
