So still on the 2nd AWOL package. I sent the info USPS sent straight back to the seller. It was only today when I went to the post office a second time to ask them to look for it armed with the tracking info and the photo of the packaging, customs and tracking numbers that the tracking info said the parcel was posted in a different state to where the firm's based a month earlier than I won the auction. I *might* have read the tracking number wrong off the label but I got Lizx to check that !

I stopped seling when ebay announced their new pricing measures, ie free postage on DVD's, limits on book/comic postage (the two things I sold the most) and the like. Any TF's I need to offload will be offered around these parts/to mates.

I won a complete Sureshot in beautiful condition last week for a mere £5.50 plus postage. It arrived yesterday in what can only be described as a manilla accordian wrapped in "REPACKED" tape with a customer service helpline number (DHL, no less) stuck on top. It appears someone at the sorting office accidentally brought the forklift down on it. One of the back wheels was squashed almost flat while the other was in pieces. They were kind enough to scrape it all up and stick it in a bag before resealing the box, though.
I shall be giving someone who was completely uninvolved with the damage to my package but who happens to work for their helpline a piece of my mind come my next day off.

"I recently received [an item] that I had won in an eBay auction of yours.... Though it arrived swiftly, it doesn't look exactly as I'd pictured it... may I return it for a refund?"
So, the nice, clear photo in the listing was, what, decoration? Sigh.....

That could work! Actually, come to think of it, the Distance Selling Regulations don't apply to auctions. Oh well, I've already told her she can return it. I do have a specified returns policy, after all.

I need some advice from the more experienced eBayers;
I listed a few things last week and each description specifically stated that I would only ship within the UK. (Getting to a post office is a real pain, so I just use the courier at work.)
Anyway, a buyer from China has won and paid for the item, quick as a flash, and then asked me for a shipping price. I used the Royal Mail website to estimate the Airmail Small Packets and sent him/her the price. And now they've written back and said it's too much.
So, now what do I do?

You can mutually withdraw the winning bid it's in the faq how to do that. pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/questions/unwanted-item.htmlPoint the seller in that direction and advise them to start that process seeing as how they were the idiot that didn't actually pay attention to the auction. Andy

I've had that problem a lot. My auctions state I only ship within the UK, but basic reading ability not often used on ebay. Never had a problem with folk ponying up postage though.

OK this doesn't help with your current problem, but you might want to change some settings for your future selling.
Go to My eBay and click on the Account tab. Click on Site preferences then Buyer Requirements. Here you can block all sorts of people including "Buyers in countries to which I don't ship"

Long time since I bought a lemon on ebay, but the Grimlock with 'tight joints' turned out to have arms which are the very definition of loose and a loose hip. Angry e-mail fired off.
EDIT: Seller will refund and I'll post it back. Genuine error when listing. Nice to see someone making an effort to deal with a complaint.
