Trying to work out how to do the next few weeks.
The major obstacle for going to London this week - a church thing on Weds - has been farmed out to the team.
Week after is a tad trickier. Need to be in Swindon for TWO hospital appointments Tuesday 18th. Do not want to be travelling west Friday 21st - Fridays travelling west on trains are never fun and the Friday before Christmas is eyes down for a full house.
I *might* stay up from this Mon till the following Monday.
It's looking like Christmas itself will be spent in London so Mum has visitors. I want to do the service 23rd if I'm missing Christmas day. I'm thinking I'll gamble on the trains that day: most people travelling will be going away from London for Christmas and most of those who will travel will probably have done it the previous few days. The regular weekend away travellers are unlikely to be going East and there's no works planned on my route.
This might be a case of "lets sit back and watch the hilarious consequences" though.....

Find out when Nick is travelling before making any decisions.

I am now reconsidering this plan having envisaged a nightmare scenario where the power lines go down/someone throws themselves in front of a train between Reading and London P causing 12TPH + of fully loaded trains to be unloaded onto 2TPH going to Waterloo.
My new strategy involves travelling up earlier at a point in time I will not publicly share before the event.

You might also want to consider having someone ensure Nick is restricted from travel.
