Well, we know most of what's coming.
Siege is chock full of what would be technically awesome toys, but aren't very exciting to see coming. (By that I mean they very... meh reveals... but would be perfectly fun to have in hand) It's given me very low expectations. Even lower than last year (which still were not met.)
Hopes are to see some really left field things like Armada Optimus, G2 Sideswipe, G2 Jhiaxus Expectations are for the remainder of the year to continue to be very uninspired.

If Hasbro are able to convince enough people to buy their £50 reissue G1 Optimus with most of the toy missing I am utterly convinced they will put out the cab on its own again in white as an 'Ultra Magnus' edition before this year is out. I am so convinced of this I will take a forfeit of Phil's choosing if I am wrong.

How do we decide if it has not been successful enough or Hasblow just didn't do it?

HOPES- I hope for Siege to deliver simple but great looking figures... '84... '85... Not get up it's own Arse. Sort it's scale out perhaps. Hope Siege Prowl is awesome. Hope Siege Ironhide/Ratchet is good. Hope for all three Strike Planes, voyager sized, and a decent mold in-hand. I particularly hope for a STUNNING Omega Supreme, the Titan I've been waiting for. And somewhere along the line I hope for MASSIVE new Unicron. A Masterpiece Jazz would be nice, but I fear he'd be super Sunbowy, but Jazz is the only MP I'm waiting for, having pretty much abandoned the line... although, there is that mesmerising toy-style MP Megatron....
PREDICTIONS- Distribution will continue to be shit.
RESOLUTIONS- None, really. Spending is well under control. Keep streamlining. Destroy utterly all supporters of the Hated Prime, The Rodimus, would-be murderer of The Great Prime, Optimus.

HOPES:
Hasbro actually do something about their distribution, having publicly admitted that they know that it's a problem and that it's one of their biggest problems following the collapse of Toys 'R' Us. The Generations line gives us something that isn't just '84 and '85 over and over again. Takara do a few more batshit repaints/remolds. Neither Takara nor Hasbro fold due to the general collapse of global economic markets.
PREDICTIONS:
Hasbro will do nothing to make distribution better, claiming that their "Select" series offered to online importers deals with that. The Generations line continues to give us '84 and '85 over and over again.
RESOLUTIONS:
Stop spending quite so much on toys. Which is going to be difficult given I married an enabler...

How do we decide if it has not been successful enough or Hasblow just didn't do it? We decide if white G1 Prime doesn't exist! -Ralph That's an observation not a decision. It's the nature of the causal train that leads to that decision that's the crucial thing here.

HOPES
Legends size make a comesback - Phil needs Warpath, Cliffjumper, Huffer & Pipes, Gears & Swere from Brawn. Thundercracker & Skywarp from Skydive - but I think there's more obious jet candidates for Generations Select Legends, Titanmasters and Combiners to make a comeback. Apeface & Snapdragon for WFC II Voyagers Leader Star Sabre, Scorponok & Thunderwing for WFC II Leaders
PREDICTIONS
Recoil, Haywire & Fracas for the Battlemasters Micromasters Laserbeak & Ravage to have an unrevealed combine weapons mode At leaast one, maybe two more Micromaster tape 2 packs Battlemasters & Micromasters to continue into WFC II Autobot Targetmasters for WFC II Deluxe Buster & Hydra from Darkwind & Blackwing - obvious cheap repaints for Generations Select Lancer for either Siege exclusive or Generations Selet More Generations Selects and Siege Exclusives
RESOLUTIONS
To get at least one of the Micromaster Combiner Transports I need - carried over from 2017 & 2018 To finish my Minibots (probably involving TFC 12) - carried over from 2017 & 2018 To get one of the orginal Dinobots that I'm missing To get an original Headmaster, preferably one of Apeface/Snapdragon To complete Skullgrin

Hopes
I will continue to hope for Seacons and Autobot Targetmasters! The new IDW comic will be good, and different.
Predictions
The new IDW comic will be OK-to-decent but suffer from backlash; highly polished fan publications inspired by IDW Phase II will be A Thing.
Resolutions
Again, draw more. Again, spend less, sell more.
I have a vague wants list I don't want to stray too far from. At the moment:
Siege Ratchet Siege Sixgun Select Swoop Studio Series G1-ish Optimus Prime Studio Series Dropkick _Maybe_ Studio Series VW Bumblebee _Maybe_ Takara Legends Big Powered _Maybe_ Siege Red Alert _Maybe_ POTP Blackwing (if he ever shows up again, just saw him the once on shelves)

How do we decide if it has not been successful enough or Hasblow just didn't do it? I'd say the price is designed to be dropped (much like TRU did with MP and G1 reissues) so it wouldnt surprise me to see it drop and bounce between $35-50 for as long as its available (maybe $30-50). If it drops below $30 for an extended period its been a failure.

I was not let down on many fronts. Just Amazon UK being useless. Damn them. Damn them to HELL. Siege Prowl has his gappy problems, but he's still a great figure. Ratchet/Ironhide totally hits the mark, and.... OMEGA SUPREME..... Massive Unicron came with a too massive price tag, but that helped me realise a few things. LONG LIVE SIEGE.

One thing I learnt this year was that Walmart approached Hasbro to do the G1 reissues and funded the runs. Hasbro may have suggested a white cab run, but if Walmart said no, it wouldn't happen.
