New location: City plaza
Location Discovered: Dark alley (+1 point)
New location: Dark alley (+3 points)
Entering the dark alley, you notice the hustle and bustle of the plaza fade away. It seems to be, or at least was at one point, residential. Several terraced cottages down either side of a cobbled street ending in a dead end. The aged houses seem to arch over you blocking the sunlight, the dirty walls dripping with condensation that drips down into small puddles that drain into a grate in the middle of the alley. Something scutters by too fast for you to get a good look at, the light dims, in the distance a bird caws. The smells emanating from the drain seemingly contained by the overhanging buildings putting you at ill-ease. Most of the houses barely even seem lived in, their dank doors seem to be sealed shut from years of neglect.
In total you guess 4 down each side of the street, indicated it seems by symbols rather than numbers.

Which of those is our symbol? Cos none sound like Prowl's face.

Huh, interesting. So we have to guess which is Kasparov's house. I assume there'll be unpleasant things behind the doors of the wrong houses...
Nothing jumps out at me. It wont be the hammer and sickle, because Kasparov was always opposed to the communist regime, or certainly at odds with them.
Could the hour-glass be an old-style chess clock...?

This might be relevant because of the reference on the info terminal to the underground passages connecting parts of the city. Might be jumping the gun though, we don't actually need to escape anything yet.

You manage to get an easy grip onto the grate with no obstruction and put all your effort into lifting it. However it is to no avail. It is solidly fixed into the cobbled ground beneath your feet.

Hmm. That drops the POI count to the same as the number of doors. I think that is openable somehow. Feels like a Stomski puzzle.
So we need to bang on a door. Maybe we need to wait for Martin's insight on the symbols to pick one. Maybe the door with no symbol has a secret one on it.
