It's the way that the Masterpiece figures still have fake altmode parts on their robot mode. Masterpiece Sunstreaker's roof in robot mode isn't his car roof, and Blackarachnia's spider head in robot mode isn't the spider's actual head. |

It could be the particular slice of Transformers fandom I follow or have retweeted into my timeline, but the consensus seems to be that the spider-mode is intolerably compromised, a mess of parts just jammed together. Which is not what I see when I look at it.
And yeah, the usual social media positive feedback loop is probably making it worse, driving people to unnecessary and performative extremes.

It's a bit of a mess but it's still absolute witchcraft that there's not the slightest trace of it in robot.
And I'd rather this, than the hot mess that's most of the MP autobot robot modes. Especially the second bumblebee.

Unfortunately I'm one of those people who find the spider mode a mess. I was never expecting it to be perfect, and always knew they'd have to compromise on something, and for this line they've always valued fidelity to robot mode over everything else; I mean, just look at Cheetor and Primal, where both of their robot mode legs are showing in beast mode. This just looks like too much of a compromise to me though, and there's just too much robot mode showing.
Now I'm willing to concede that I might well look at this in person and decide it looks a lot better, that's always a possibility. Or if it's ever reduced below the initial asking price then I may well take a punt, because the robot mode is very nice. But for now it just saves me a lot of money.
And yes, I'm passing on the second MP Bumblebee also, becuase that's even more of an offensive-looking mess than this is. (Although, again, willing to have my mind changed by it in the flesh.)

So the Kapow page states that it's the smallest BW Masterpiece - I think with this in mind, and thinking of the size of Primal and Cheetor, this makes the engineering quite impressive and forgivable.

I'm curious as to how big she is. Her size varied in the show. Sometimes she wasn't much bigger than Rattrap.
But usually she was around Cheetor and Airazor, who were about equal, and the second smallest maximals to rattrap.
I was expecting her to be about a head smaller than Cheetor.
Which, she may still be. That'd be truthful that she's the smallest.

Also has the pre order price guarantee so if it goes lower you get the lower price.
* though by the time it shows up on my credit card I imagine it will be about the same as Kapow. But I might get lucky on the price guarantee or a customs refund.

HLJ has it up for significantly cheaper, too.
The problem I have for them is shipping is basically russian roulette. Sometimes shipping is really cheap (i got a nurid decepticon warrior on clearance, shipped, for cheaper than that same toy at walmart), sometimes not. And they don't announce how much shipping will be on preorders until it's already in the mail.
MP BW Megatron was just under what BBTS charges for megs.
But BA isn't that much cheaper than BBTS. It won't take much for shipping to neutralize the savings. Or even end up totaling higher than BBTS's $140 pricetag.

Thats the nice thing about Amazon shipping is shown when ordering. For us in the UK it also avoids a £10-13 fee for being charged customs taxes.
