Doing some research at the moment into how to get more books into the hands of children and for use in the classroom. I've just used the borrowbox app in conjunction with my local library for the first time. I've never been an eBook reader, but I need ways to get teachers to use a wider variety of texts more easily. I've experimented with the Kindle app and am reading a book that way at the moment; I like the benefits it has over paper books (especially the dictionary function for children) but obviously that will quickly eat away at the book budget. So I've been looking at the library equivalent too - very easy to use and something I'll push at parents and teachers.

It's weird. They're just DRM free MP3 files. I suppose when my loan time is up I'm just supposed to delete them.

On the Borrowbox app? They'll stop working and/or autodelete when you return them or they expire.
Borrowbox borrowing is up 50-60% nationally apparently currently. We often do audiobooks for car journeys with it and Mrs M always has a few ebooks out with it.
Mrs M's library has been given extra funding for it this week and Borrowbox have said they'll match find it. They are a good sort.

I like to collect and own books so I've never really considered this, but for the volume I should be reading for school I really like this. I think my experiences with using Marvel Unlimited to wean myself off the Panini comics has made me more amenable to eReading.

I still stick with physical reading for study and leisure. I don't like e-books, but I do think Libraries should have good services to provide them as many people like e-books (and especially now when libraries are closed).
