I am told Burns is mainlining this in an attempt to prove he's a better man than Turnbull who has allegedly wussed out halfway through... IIRC he is working today. I am only better because I have the stomach to mainline it in one go. -Ralph

Watching it tonight along with a bottle of Baileys and a Thanos Infinity Gauntlet that my daughter got me for Christmas. If the baileys doesn't numb the pain, then I can use the gauntlet to erase the thing from existence. Or myself.
Saying that, I checked the first few seconds of it today (just to make sure it was on) and it didn't seem to bad at all. Perhaps I know what to expect this time and will enjoy it...
Viewing commences at 7.00.

I genuinely wasn't planning to watch but after some horrendous news (see Channeling thread), I needed something brainless on in the background.
It was SHITE. There was one good scene in episode 1 and though it was bollocks it was at least pacier than Siege. Then episode 2 started and IT SLOWED TO MANURE LIKE SHITE OFF A FARMER LORRY.
The context and delivery of the line : "TELL ME YOU FORGIVE ME!" is right up there with: "MARTHAAA!!!". Dear oh dear.
There is a fight that goes on FOR TWO FUDGING EPISODES in a small location which is a repeat of the same action OVER AND OVER LIKE FARTS IN A WATERFALL.
THAT ENDING CAN GO DIE IN A SENTIENT PIT OF MY ARSE!!!! Why? THERE IS NO ENDING! IT DOESN'T FUVCKING END IT JUST STOPS!!!
OBEY NARRATIVE CONSTRUCTION, ARSEHOLES OF MINKS FROM HELL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11

Really if you dont want one character to kill another character stop putting them in that exact position without a good way to prevent it happening. Repeatedly. Also what the f%&£ was Shockwave trying to do at the end. If it was a trap why did he allow them to succeed?

I honestly don't know.
As I said, episode 1 had some flow to it in comparison to Siege and a couple of genuinely good moments but thereafter...dear oh dear.

Made it. Umm. I think I liked Siege more. That was a bit all over the place and what the hell was episode five all about.

Episode 5 required knowledge of comics and film from other continuities. I think.

I remember the dead universe stuff from the early IDW comics, it just seemed a weird gear change in the middle of the story. Obviously setting up stuff for Kingdom, but even that feels like it would be better off not having to bring in the movie characters too.
I get what they were going for with Sky Lynx, but I don't think that was really what his character is about.

I don't know who looked at Sky Lynx's toy design and thought that is the perfect character for...that.

It was much better than Siege, still had problems but a definite step up.
Though some eye-rolling moments of absolute stupidity and the voice direction is still absolute balls.

That was a I don't even know. A lot more Cyberverse, a bit less Siege and just sitting there not really doing anything. At least Siege had a point, this was.. {Spoiler}Like, it didn't go ANYWHERE. The only thing that changed was that The Decepticons got a spaceship and off planet. If you'd had the Ark crash at the end of Siege you'd have achieved pretty much the same as this whole series did.
Doubledealer and Bugbite were way off model, and Bee and Wheeljack still didn't transform at all. The Quintesson was a wasted idea thrown out way too soon and ugh.
There were a lot of good ideas in it, I'll give it that, but they were never explored! I actually thought Ep. 1 might be giving us a bit of growth for Megatron, but nope. {Spoiler}And the bit with Magnus's head looked like it could be going somewhere, but they never mention it again after he leaves the planet and is just EVIL MEGATRON again.
So frustrating.

Well, I bloody enjoyed that. Nice character suprises and voice acting didnt seem as slow this time. Just great really. Sky Lynx sounded like a calm Patrick Stewart.

Galvatron felt a touch more cartoony than the rest and there was a definite Nick Roche vibe to him.

The thing we need to worry about is that this series is very accurate to the toys with its character models and that is not a good Galvatron head.

I'm sure Galvatron falls into the camp of having a robot mode not based on a toy. Just like Arcee and Bumbleebee in their 'Autobot's transform and roll out: Actually, we are just going to sit on Primes flatbed as we haven't been given vehicle mode cads' forms.

Aye, Galvatron isn't based on a toy cad file like the rest of the cast.
