This Earthrise Datsun mould is rather nice. I've been dying to have a go with this and it doesn't disappoint. Aside from the hollows in the ankles, the robot mode is really well proportioned and the car is great. Like a mini masterpiece. Can't wait to get the Prowl for this.

At this rate, I'll have Prowl first, and Bluestreak has yet to be officially announced or sold.
Hasbro didn't just drop the ball with Earthrise. They dropkicked it into the grand canyon.

Yeah, you do get the feeling that with all the pandemic distruption, Hasbro just abandoned Earthrise and hurried onto the next thing, with Galactic Oddessies and Selects to try and mop up the leftovers if they could be shoehorned in, like Kingdom isn't going to be affected by all this as well.
Nevermind this rumour that Gears and Polar Claw have been dropped already...

Nevermind this rumour that Gears and Polar Claw have been dropped already... I don't think it's so much that they were dropped, more that they weren't carried forward from the initial ideas phase. That must happen loads, we just never get to know. Like Grapple being in the early boxart before he came out. |

They seem to be doing okay with ER everywhere else in the world, though. It's *felt* messy, but objectively I think it's possible to understand. The problems have been that some of wave 2 was delayed a couple of months from July to September and because of the lack of conventions, the release of exclusives has been haphazard, not helped by the increase in numbers of them. It's become apparent that nothing has been shelved or lost - there never was an ER wave four. I think what's happened is that the virus got in the way of Hasbro trying to change their game plan to being more exclusive focused. That huge gap between wave one and two that was always there regardless of the virus is interesting, as was the original march date we had for wave one last autumn. Hasbro are upping exclusivity across all their lines which would have made this year a trial anyway, it's just the virus problems made it worse. |

Got the Quint Judge set today.
Boy it's really understated exactly just how lazy the alicon mold is.
Like, my expectations were so low on this mold that I thought it'd be impossible for it to be that bad, but like... I think I undersold it. It hits way differently in person. This is on the level of the McDonald's beast wars toys.
It's funny how bad it is compared to the ten dollar legends Sharkticon. It managed to do roughly the same thing, at half the price and three times the complexity.
Like I'd previously thought the alicon would be acceptible as a legend. But having them side by side? No, it still wouldn't have been.
The Quint Judge isn't winning any favors, either. I'd kinda thought if I ever found them on clearance, I'd grab two more regular releases. But...no.
But ultimately becoming a very poorly disguised cage, is silly enough that it's worth this one.

I got an update on my Amazon DE Prowl / Ironhide preorder - not a cancellation, just an expected delivery date of November 4th, so it looks like they currently think they'll be releasing it.
I know, it's an Amazon preorder, anything can still happen in the next month, but it's a glimmer of hope...
