There seems to be confusion about him being repainted depending where you read..,,, Similarly Smashdown is repacked in Battlemasters w1 Astrotrain is in the show diorama up the hill but I haven't seen any close up pics of him. -Ralph Managed to confirm this am that it will be the same toy repacked.

Cliffjumper = Runamok? We know Cliffjumper's chest must turn, ala the Universe2 Lambos, for the windscreen to be facing away from the front of the car feet.

Why all the white on Hoist? Surely it should be silver or at worst grey?

Why is Wheeljack's number 638 and not 538? The number is usually 539, but I agree! Much more important than all this fist color outrage!

New faction? Do we know what that is?

They'll probably repurpose a preexisting name. But I'm a bit at a loss for what would work.
Wasn't there a leaked list of trademarks a year or two back that had some odd standouts? I wouldn't even know where to start digging to find that.
As for who's in it, I'd imagine the modular base dudes like Ironworks. But that's just a guess as it gives "kids" an excuse to buy a lot of them and build big cities, without having to care about factions.
As a kid, I had my micromasters abandon the war, specifically because as factions, the bases were rather meh. But putting both sides together I could make a truly spectacular city.

Someone should point out to Hasbro that mercenaries are not a faction, the clue is in the name.

I find myself suddenly having personal issues with Starscream.
I don't mind molds being remade/reissued for people who never had a go at them before. I don't mind characters popping up repeatedly for the same reasons (though I often wish lately there was more time between some of then).
I understand people who have issues with Starscream's size in the past, and have no problem with that, either. I understand very much people, like Shockprowl being very excited for this one.
But the more I think about it, the harder it is for me to want this one. It's just an upscale version of a mold I've had since 2006. Starscream being a deluxe has never been a big problem for me. This one doesn't seem to fix any of the problems the original has. The original has all of the seekers, plus several Hasbro will never revisit (like Nacelle), and a few they're unlikely to (g2).
The two molds won't mix well. It's easy enough for me to just skip out because already been there and done that. But it's very possible Hasbro will do seekers that don't exist in the Classics deluxe, like Slipstream. But by the time they start getting around to those, they'll likely be done with the primary six, and a few other c-listers like Sunstorm and Acidstorm. So if I choose to opt out now, then i may end up with one or two giant seekers mixed in with a ton or normal sized guys. But they might also never do one that hasn't been done. FP didn't really leave many existing decoes out (can only think of slipstream, the three prototypes, redwing, and the light purple troopbuilder. Which in hindsight is bloody gobsmacking they didn't do the troopbuilder deco) If I start collecting the new mold, then it's the reverse. The six or so main guys surrounded by a bunch of tiny guys that look exactly like them.
Honestly, I don't think I'd have this problem if earthrise starscream weren't based on Classics, but just sorta did it's own thing. Even if the end result were a robot that pretty much looked the same. Or if it were also a deluxe.
I don't know what to do. And whichever I choose I'm going to end up feeling terrible about the decision.

I think I understand what you're saying there, CJ.
It's the thought of starting collecting a particular set all over again, after you've painstakingly collected a tremendous sounding collection of the other Seeker mold (I can say 'Seeker' here, he's an American).
As you say, for people like me, the delux mold was lovely, but too damn small to scale with the rest of my collection such that it is. But a Voyager scaled Classics Starscream?!?! Awesome, and it's about Goddamn time.
But the ruth is, I am feeling something similar to this new Starscream. I've painstakingly watched waited and struck to collect the Main Three in Siege. NOW I HAVE TO GO THROUGH ALL THAT AGAIN?!?! Plus, for all it's faults, I like the Siegeker mold, for the same reason I like Siege in general- it's not quite Earth, it's not quite Cybertron, it's something... else...
So if I take the plunge and buy this new Voyager sized Classics Starscream, I will HAVE to get AT LEAST the Main Three, AGAIN (...and God help me if the do Cone-heads). But if do what the Lady in the blue dress in that cartoon film says, and LET IT GO, I could rest and be happy with my three Siegekers, but would have let pass a figure I've wanted for so long.

Fist Colour Outrage is quite the most amusing thing I've seen from the fandom in a while. I'd pay good money that this isn't circumstantial or an error: Hasbro have done this deliberately so as not to cannibalise their MP-44 sales: "You want "Definitive"? PAY FOR IT". Tight-fisted rather than ham-fisted. Has restored a little lost-love for my Siege Prime anyway.

It's not even the thought of starting the seekers over again. It's that this is fundamentally the same toy, only bigger. The "starting over" aspect wouldn't bother me if there were something fundamentally different about it- based on a different design (EJ Su's), or like MP uses the same design only achieves it differently, or even just addresses the flaws of the mold. Then it would be a fundamentally different toy, and I could feel better about either starting over, picking and chosing, or just ignoring this set.

I love how the storyline is about the robots being IN SPACE and battling ANYWHERE IN THE COSMOS but the toy line is 'Earth modes/Sunbow 1984'. -Ralph

iPodimus homage, only without any actual mold changes to the trailer, or Battlecore, so it fundamentally ruins the Ultra Magnus cab repaint people would actually want. Now you're getting the hang of it!

Why can't they come up with a decent story or premise? It's like PotP, they just made it up as they went along. War for Cybertron is just being made up as they stagger and lurch along. Now some of the figures are amazing! But if these good figures were part of an organised story it would be better for all.

Swipe me, that's a good looking generations figure. I really hope we get an Inferno out of this. I suppose as Selects did Ricochet we'll get an Artfire too.

Agreed with Uraael. The orange head does it absolutely no favors. It works on the Universe mold because the U2 mold's head isn't surrounded by orange.

My Godfathers Grapple looks amazing. Jeepers. Some of these Earthrise figures are looking good. NOT AS GOOD AS SIEGE, THOUGH... I won't get him, but I'd struggle to not get an Inferno (had Inferno as a nipper).
