No problem. I'm on a bit of a mission around the internet to keep this project going, as I have now seemingly exhausted out-of-print DVDs and online PDFs as sources.

I am rather kicking myself that I wasn't in to this whole script thing a lot earlier. Six years ago, Masterforce UK were selling TF script copies for £30, now I can't even get an archived screenshot for the cover dates.

Long shot, I know. But does anyone here have - or know someone who has - any of the first draft scripts that Masterforce UK were selling about six or seven years ago?

Quick round up of some new goodies I've managed to reel in:

Call sheets from Hoist Goes Hollywood, Chaos and Dark Awakening bolted on to the respective dialogue scripts
Unedited dialogue script for Dark Awakening, including deleted lines
1st page of outline for Cosmic Rust, featuring a starring role for Shockwave that was gone by the full script
1st page of outline for Chaos, with a very different opening.

Got around to something I ought to do before the photos are lost. I compiled the samples of the City Of Steel storyboards from the original ebay auction.

The archive has now been updated to include the handwritten "Beats" chart and first page of the premise/outline for Grimlock's New Brain (titled Creation Of The Technobots). The uncut dialogue for Act I of Chaos has been amalgamated into the existing dialogue script as well as more from the episode's outline.

No, pretty sure he was Jetfire in the story bible as well iirc. There was a switch part way through development, not sure why.

I have a vague memory of him being called Jetfire in the sticker album, but could be wrong.

All but one of the season 1 scripts that he appeared in, he was written as Jetfire and was passed through story editing unaltered. Except for Fire On The Mountain, which Doug Booth wrote concurrently with this. There he wrote Skyfire, but it was corrected in the edit to Jetfire.

As we found out from those dialogue tapes, they were hedging their bets and recording versions of dialogue with both names.

I figure the reason for the name change goes hand-in-hand with the design change. Hasbro probably felt that the name of one of their toy licenses shouldn't be attached to a piece of advertising that looks nothing like the toy.

So where did the cartoon/comic design used for Jetfire design come from?

Same place as all the other character models. If you look at the minibots, Skyfire has been humanised in the same way. It's just his history is more complicated because of the change from the original model that was used in the toy advert.

The character model in the show bible (with the added note not to use the character) is the toy design and strangely the model sheet was coded for S.O.S Dinobots.

Finally got around to uploading copies of the Hasbro briefing binders that came from the Friedman auctions. Have early names and designs, Diaclone reference and Cybertronian mode model sheets from MTMTE. Covers the '84 and early '85 cast:
